Crossing the Jordan River - A Bible Story for Kids

A biblical account recounts a miraculous event where the River Jordan ceased to flow, allowing the Israelites to cross on dry ground. This moment, led by Joshua, occurs at a time when the river is at its fullest and most dangerous, emphasizing the power of faith and divine intervention.

As the Israelites prepare to enter the Promised Land, God instructs the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant and step into the river before it parts. This act of faith is pivotal, as the waters only stop flowing once their feet touch the water. The crossing serves as a powerful reminder of God's might and faithfulness, with the priests standing firm in the middle of the riverbed while the entire nation passes safely.

After crossing, twelve men collect stones from the riverbed to create a memorial, ensuring that future generations remember this extraordinary event. The story illustrates a broader message about trusting in God during seemingly impossible situations, reinforcing the belief that divine assistance is always present when faced with challenges.
