Music At Maddens PodcastShow Notes
Music at Madden’s Podcast returns with a very special guest — Brian Finnegan, one of the most influential flute players to emerge from the Irish traditional music scene. Recorded in the snug at Madden’s Bar, this episode sees Lynette Fay sit down with Brian for a wide-ranging and thoughtful conversation that moves from tradition to innovation, and everything in between. Brian reflects on his early musical influences, his journey through the traditional music world, and the curiosity that has continually driven him to push boundaries — whether through composition, collaboration, or exploring new musical spaces. He speaks openly about creativity, musical identity, and the balance between respecting tradition while allowing it to evolve. A rich, reflective episode with one of Irish music’s most respected voices.
