On should have been a regular sunny day, harvesters in the small town of Woolpit, England, made a strange discovery. In a pit made to trap wolves that would attack their livestock, they found two children: a young boy and his older sister. They would've been considered ordinary children if it weren't for one odd detail: their skin was a bright green color. They also didn't seem to be able to speak English or any other known language. Fortunately, one of them started learning the language and was finally able to explain where they came from. But the more the town started finding out about these children, the more the mystery grew. This is a lesser-known, short eerie legend of Ketell, as found on Chronicon Anglicanum by Radulphi de Coggeshall. You might recognize the chronicle's name because it's the same one where the story of the Green Children of Woolpit appears. In this story, an innocent teenager that works the fields has an encounter with small demons that are planning to scare everybody in town. He soon realizes that he's the only one that can see demons and decides to keep the secret for himself. This story reached Radulphi's ears and he documented in the book as a true account. But how terrifying is it to be able to see these evil spirits? Find Edwin on social media as @edwincov or more stories at HorrorStory.com

On November 30, 1948 in South Australia, a man in a suit appeared on the beach. Despite the many efforts of detectives, scientists, and the public, the man could not be identified. What made this mystery bizarre, was that there were cryptic messages and clues that made no sense. A small rolled up piece of paper, no labels on his clothing, and no apparent signs of struggle. However, in 2022, science finally caught up with the case and the identity was revealed. But even with that information, the case still remains a mystery. Venice is famous for its beautiful canals, but hidden beyond the tourist crowds lies a darker history that few visitors ever see. In this episode, we explore the infamous island of Poveglia, a place long associated with plague victims, abandoned hospitals, ghost stories, and one of Italy's most enduring paranormal legends. We separate historical fact from centuries of folklore while uncovering the truth behind claims of mass deaths, haunted bell towers, and mysterious sightings. Then we travel to San Servolo, the forgotten "Island of the Mad," where more than 200,000 psychiatric patients passed through an isolated asylum. From medieval quarantine stations to World War II atrocities, these forgotten islands reveal how Venice once hid disease, suffering, and society's outcasts just beyond its famous skyline. Are these islands truly haunted, or is history itself terrifying enough? Find Edwin as @edwincov For more of our shows, visit ScaryFM.com HorrorStory.com
