Roger Brooks was Viking Radio’s original Managing and Programme Director when the station launched in 1984. In this episode, we find out how it all began, including how the station could have been called Humber Bridge Radio. We look back at the early days of joint programming with Pennine Radio, the creation of the Yorkshire Radio Network, the experiment that was Viking Gold, and the eventual takeover by Metro Radio Group.
