Equipping the Saints (Part 2): How the Church Can be Effective in Gospel Training
The Tron Church PodcastShow Notes
The equipping of the saints is a key part of the work of the pastor. Paul says so explicitly in Ephesians chapter 4. However, for many years in Scotland this has not been happening. The work of training people for ministry has been divorced from the work of the church. This has not only led to many pastors entering into ministry feeling ill-equipped for the task, but also many churches feeling like the work of training has nothing to do with them.September 2026 marks 20 years since the first year of the Cornhill Training Course in Scotland. In marking this occasion, Josh sits down here with Willie Philip and Andy Gemmill to talk through some of the practical considerations for what healthy Gospel training looks like. This episode is the second of two parts. In the first, the guys discussed the underlying convictions behind gospel training. If you haven't listened to that already, you may like to listen to part 1 first, before returning to listen to part 2.
