Show Notes
On this Easter Special episode of the Acid For Squares podcast, hosts Cody Blue and Tanya Dahl welcome William Henry, renowned mythologist, author, and star of the hit History Channel series Ancient Aliens. William joins the show to discuss his groundbreaking new book, The Psychedelic Christ: The Lost Dose of the Son of Man, a provocative exploration into the hidden origins of Christianity and the forgotten sacrament at the heart of humanity’s earliest encounters with the divine.
Is there evidence that Jesus did psychedelics?
Drawing on the Gospels, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Essene mysticism, Egyptian and Greek mystery traditions, and modern neuroscience, William presents a compelling case that Jesus’ teachings about being “born from above” and entering the Kingdom of God may have pointed not just to theology, but to direct spiritual experience. In this conversation, he explores the hypothesis that early Christianity, and even the sacred foundations of ancient Egyptian culture, were deeply connected to entheogenic plant medicine as a means of communing with the divine.
After never having used psychedelics and avoiding them his entire life, William says the evidence eventually became too compelling to dismiss. As years of research continued pointing to entheogens as foundational to early Christianity and ancient Egyptian culture, he decided to enter his first ceremonial experience. What followed, he shares, was profound: a direct communion with the spirit world that deeply affirmed his life’s work and opened the door to healing, revelation, and even an encounter with Jesus Christ himself.
Was the original sacrament of Christianity psychedelic?
This episode is a radical, mind-expanding journey into faith, revelation, healing, and the lost mystical roots of Christianity.
