Show Notes
Brooke Goff puts comedian Tony Deyo on the stand—no handcuffs, just hard questions and harder laughs. From bombing spectacularly at a camouflage-packed logging company Christmas party (yes, there’s a disco-light karaoke mic and a steak-juice moment) to the precision of clean comedy and the business behind making a living, Tony breaks down what it really takes to survive the grind. They get into the surprising connection between symphony training and comedic timing, why a “scripted” act can still feel spontaneous, how to not train an audience to stop laughing, and what changed after landing Conan. Plus: the origin story behind his special Raccoon Mafia—including the raccoon that basically left a mob-style message.
