Level Up Babe

Show Notes

Let's discuss spiritual bypassing versus mindset work in this episode, as well as how to combine honoring feelings with moving forward. People have said things like, "You can't just think positive," because doing so would mean disregarding the pressing issues. You may have also heard others state that your perspective and way of thinking about things determine everything. So how do we proceed through life? How can we be sovereign, choose how we want to view things, and do it in a way that empowers us and supports us while also honoring the path and being honest about what is happening? Check watch today's podcast to learn more about it!

"That looks like anger release exercises, breathwork sessions that are specifically designed for somatic release. Releasing emotions and trauma, it looks like movement and expression through your body."

What is spiritual bypassing vs. mindset work? How to honor feelings and not spiritually bypass What does it look like to not spiritually bypass but at the same time actually process your emotions?

Hey there! Before we dive into today's podcast, let me give you a sneak peek into my chaotic life as a mom wrangling kids for dinner and soccer practice. But hey, this won't be a long episode. I'm thrilled to share that come January, I'm launching a new course, and if you're on the email list, you'll be the first to know, with some exclusive offers coming your way. Today, I'm delving into a topic close to my heart—relationships. I've been thinking about two major hurdles we often face: firstly, not seeing people from the heart, reacting instead of understanding; and secondly, the reluctance to self-reflect when things go awry. Drawing from a recent experience with my son and his teacher, I emphasize the importance of both parties owning up to their roles. So, here's the deal: practice pausing when triggered, understand your own stories, communicate openly, and embrace self-reflection. If you haven't joined the "Resentment Trap '' course, you're missing out—link's in the show notes with a special discount. Lastly, a personal note, Peter and I are sharing a profound story on my new YouTube channel—check it out, share, and tag me. Your support means the world. Love you all and catch you on the next episode!

Hey there, it's Joy Harrington, and I'm thrilled to have you on the show today. We're tackling a topic close to many hearts – the connection between resentment and libido. On my Instagram, I often dive into how these two aspects, especially for women, are intertwined. Resentment can be a significant barrier to emotional and physical intimacy, often rooted in communication breakdowns. Today, let's focus on practical communication strategies to break down those barriers. From practicing active listening to choosing the right time and place, these steps can make a real difference. Remember, communication is a two-way street, but positive change can start with just one person. For those eager to explore further, my Resentment Trap course is now on a special Black Friday sale – 50% off for those on my email list. In this podcast episode, I open up about the pervasive issue of feeling alone within marriages and share my journey in flipping this narrative. Drawing from recent coaching experiences and personal reflections, I explore the common thread of women feeling overwhelmed by the belief that everything is solely their responsibility. I delve into the root causes, pinpointing childhood influences and the impact of societal expectations, particularly the pitfalls of control and perfectionism. Sharing a poignant personal story about a pivotal moment in my own marriage, I stress the significance of letting go and trusting one's partner. Throughout the episode, I introduce the "Resentment Trap" program, designed to identify and replace harmful relationship patterns. I urge listeners to reflect on their own contributions to this narrative and consider joining the Resentment Trap for transformative change in their marriages. The episode concludes with expressions of gratitude and an invitation for listeners to return for more insightful discussions in the next episode!

In this episode, I, Joy Harrington, find myself driving to an appointment, lost in thought about that inner narrative we all grapple with – that voice telling us we're messing things up, that we're not good enough, that we've made a mistake. I've realized that this critical voice often emerges when I take a chance on something new, something I truly want, and that's a sign I need to confront deep-seated beliefs holding me back. It's an uncomfortable battle within, where I've learned that retreating or backtracking only keeps me in the same old loop. The key, I've discovered, is to lean into the discomfort, ask challenging questions, and shift those limiting beliefs. Even though it might make you feel like a bit of a hypocrite at times, you don't need to lean in 100% of the time, just 51%. It's about embracing the discomfort, changing your internal narratives, and ultimately reshaping your reality. So, don't give up, and remember, the discomfort is a sign of growth.
