This is my weekly interval run session.
My virtual run club!
These sessions are for any level of runner as you can make the high intensity interval session as fast as you need it to be to make the session work for you.
I suggest using these sessions once a week to help improve cardiac fitness and speed.
The sessions are also designed to help you feel strong in your mind, body and breath.
Do not run an interval session if you are injured and stop and seek help if you develop chest pain or shortness of breath that is more than you would expect.
This session is written as a 5 minute warm up jog followed by 4 times (3 minutes hard effort with 1.5 minutes of rest interval) and cool down jog.
The whole work out is 25 minutes long and we will be thinking about a positive core value along with using our breath to help particularly in our rest interval and we will be thinking about our form and specificlly engaging our core as we run on our harder efforts.
Enjoy!

Dr Montse is a consultant in reproductive medicine and specialist gynaecologist and obstetrician working for Avenues Reproductive Intelligence. Avenues offer services across the country but also work out of our own clinic, Gillvray Health, in Cambridge and will be moving into their own premises in the next few months again in central Cambridge. I love how their service aligns with ours especially when we think of holistic health which starts even before conception. We thought it would be helpful to get together and chat about the really difficult subject of Baby Loss. This month is Baby Loss Awareness and we know this affects so many more people than we are aware of. We are hoping this conversation will provide support to any one struggling or who has been through this devastation.
So we know all the things but we just can’t make it happen. I’m excited to bring Dr Callum Leese into the studio this week to talk about exactly that. Callum is a GP, an Academic Fellow in Primary Care and a RCGP Physical Activity & Lifestyle Champion. I know him from stages and from The Movement Prescription Podcast and what has struck me is not just his passion but also his gentle compassion. This will not be a list of shoulds but a discussion around how with a touch of why! With a beautiful Scottish accent thrown in. Come and join us!
I am so excited to invite Gary to the studio. Gary has a wealth of experience as a paediatric allergist and divides his time between his busy Leicester NHS practice and his private practice running out of Gillvray Health in central Cambridge. Gary has so much to share but I wanted to bring him on today specifically to talk about some exciting new updates for children with hayfever and severe allergies and why we need to be thinking now for next year in terms of treatment. I’m looking forward to his!
It is great to welcome back Chris to the studio. Chris cofounded the Cambridge ADHD and Autism Centre with Dr Anna Conway Morris having recognised a real need locally. He is passionate about recognising and treating ADHD and autism and has created a real team of experts. ADHD is an area I am asked a lot about. The waiting times are extensive in the NHS but often the cost of private assessments and prescriptions are too much for many to consider. I want to ask Chris the questions I get asked particularly on how to navigate the system for the young people we are worried about. I’m looking forward to learning!
This week I am excited to bring Dr Hussain back to Time to Talk. Hussain and I last connected at the Boston Marathon where his calling out of the Nike slogan that “walkers are tolerated” led to Nike taking down the poster and rethinking their campaign. Hussain is passionate about the benefits of movement for everyone. He is an amazing athlete but he celebrates all movement and works tirelessly to help break down barriers for individuals. Come and be inspired. Walkers are very welcome!
