Where Lightning Strikes Twice [Genesis 39-41] (Gary Leslie) [Pt 2/3]

Hukanui Bible Church

Show Notes

Gary Leslie traces how repeated moments in Joseph’s life reveal deliberate design, not chance, showing us God’s hand at work even in upheaval and injustice.

Gary walks us through Genesis 39–41, where we see Joseph’s journey from favour to slavery, from false accusation to prison, and ultimately to authority in Egypt, all under God’s purposeful direction. We recognise that God is not governed by chance but by intention, using hardship, testing, and waiting to refine His servant. Through Joseph’s faithfulness, resistance to temptation, and trust in God’s timing, we see vivid portraits of Christ and a reminder that our circumstances may shift wildly, yet God’s presence remains constant. Together, we are called to trust His purposes, endure trials with perspective, and look ahead to the greater hope that points us toward glory beyond present suffering.

This is part 2 of 3 of a series titled "Purpose & Passion in a Perplexing World".

Recorded at the Hukanui Bible Church morning service on Sunday the 19th of April 2026 during the 10:00 am service.
