We’ve traded the natural world for an artificial one constructed for consumption and safety. In this episode, I talk about the quiet exhaustion of living at a pace we weren't built for. Every moment not spent "improving" is treated like a waste of space. I explore how the digital world’s constant need for our attention is a form of brain rot that drains our mental health. I share my own journey of hitting a wall of burnout and my hesitant, slightly terrifying escape to Glacier National Park. I talk about the edge of a cliff moments that forced me to trade screen time for presence. I also look at the science behind why nature acts as a biological reset for our cortisol and blood pressure. The goal isn't to move to the mountains forever. Instead, it is about finding ways to reclaim your humanity. We can do this through 120 minutes of weekly forest bathing or just appreciating the simple magic of a piece of fruit. It's about stepping outside the system’s logic long enough to remember that we’re all just living on a floating rock in space. ---- Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/

More from Finding Solace
In today's episode, I dive into the idea that dating is supposed to be fun, and that modern dating sucks because we take ourselves too seriously all the time. I end the episode by talking about ways to improve your dating life by slowing down and enjoying the process. --- Support the show monthly: https://solacespeaks.com/
Everyone knows about the rise of AI slop, but have you ever thought about how AI slop shapes our culture and the physical world around us? In today's episode, I talk about how AI is degrading human creativity and communication skills, how AI art is devaluing real art, and how to fight back. --- Support the show monthly: https://solacespeaks.com/
In today's episode, I talk about the art of "endeavoring" and how most people haven't ever truly tried to achieve their goals. I talk about how to focus on a goal, to learn a new skill, or embark on a new adventure without burning out, and how to spot the difference between endeavoring and "grinding".
In today's episode, I give an extended compilation of some of my more recent conversations, starting with the Philosophy of Alan Watts, and diving into topics like dating, consumerism, and mindfulness. In today's episode, I talk about how old Minecraft forces you to focus, enhances your creativity, and improves your attention span. As the game has evolved, Mojang has continuously added more content to keep players engaged, but the most engaging way to play the game is still found in old versions. --- Join my Discord and apply to join the Minecraft serer by following the instructions in the #info channel: https://discord.com/invite/jreFGvRmGd
