🎵 Help support the A.L.E. Project — Azeroth Listening Expeditionhttps://forms.gle/jFnU71SCY3YeCa8b7 The A.L.E. Project is our community effort to categorize World of Warcraft's enormous musical library by mood, environment, theme and more. Contributions help us find the right music for projects like Tides of Lore Classic and can directly help make future episodes faster to produce.
There was a time when a kobold was dangerous, a mine was unexplored, and the road beyond the next hill was somewhere you had never been.
Tides of Lore Classic returns to the original World of Warcraft questing experience from the perspective of someone stepping into Azeroth for the first time.
Our journey begins in Northshire Abbey before carrying us through the forests, farms, mines and settlements of Elwynn Forest. Along the way we'll meet the kobolds of Echo Ridge, discover the red-bandana-wearing thieves haunting the countryside, visit Goldshire and the Lion's Pride Inn, encounter murlocs along Crystal Lake, follow the roads to Eastvale and Westbrook, and eventually reach the border of Westfall.
Rather than simply recounting the quests, Tides of Lore Classic combines narration with World of Warcraft's music and dialogue, environmental ambience, Foley and sound effects to recreate the feeling of actually making the journey. This is The First Road.
More from Tides of Lore
Lore segment begins at (10:04) A prince promises survival at a terrible cost. Rebels escape his city, bargain for sanctuary, and build a new life above the world. Thousands of years later, their descendants must decide how to save the home that bargain gave them. We begin Tides of Lore: Forever by connecting the Skyborne’s origins to the Shen’dralar of Eldre’Thalas, the ancient city now known as Dire Maul. We follow Tortheldrin’s rule, the rebellion against his plans, and the exiles whose journey leads into Skywall and the Zephras Isle starting storyline. First, we return to the aftermath of Warcraft III: Arthas’s betrayal, Grom Hellscream’s sacrifice, the stand at Mount Hyjal, and the fragile peace that follows. These events leave Azeroth with the rivalries, displaced peoples, and unfinished conflicts that form the backdrop to World of Warcraft: Forever. We also discuss the High Order and Windshapers, the Skyborne’s ties to the Kirin Tor and Earthen Ring, and our first impressions of how their story fits into Warcraft’s history.
The trees of Elwynn fall behind you, and Westfall opens beneath a wide sky. A family needs its wedding watch returned. A horse needs feeding. Farmers are trying to hold their ground against thieves and wandering harvest watchers.
