Amy and T.J.Show Notes
It's the final week of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and while we often focus on early detection and treatment options, we rarely discuss what happens after treatment ends, when anxiety sets in for many women. Amy and T.J. have a raw and honest conversation with fellow breast cancer patient, actress Nicole Eggert, about how both she and Amy navigate life after treatment. You may be surprised to hear how Amy and Nicole feel about their breast cancer diagnoses today, and why they say their lives have changed for the better, despite the physical and emotional rollercoaster that continues beyond treatment. 15 years after 33-year-old mother of three, Michelle Parker went missing, a newly unsealed affidavit reveals just how much damning evidence police have amassed against Parker’s ex-fiancee, Dale Smith Jr. Parker went missing within an hour of their “The People’s Court” episode, where a judge ruled that both parties should split the cost of a missing engagement ring. While Parker’s body has never been found, police now have incriminating cellphone records, text messages, and a lengthy criminal history of domestic violence by Smith that have many asking why it took so long for police to make an arrest. It was a powerful and emotional day in a Manhattan courtroom that ended with the judge sentencing Alon, Oren and Tal Alexander to 30 years each for drugging and raping dozens of women for more than a decade. 11 women came forward to read their victim impact statements to a packed courtroom, some of them directly addressing the brothers. The Alexander brothers were once wealthy, powerful men who used their status to lure women and teenagers to exotic locations where they sexually abused them. Each brother pleaded for mercy from the judge, but continued to plead their innocence. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dictionary.com’s Word of the Year is one that we’ve all heard, read, and yes, sometimes even used in varying situations. “Maxxing” is a word that refers to the practice of pursuing an activity to the fullest, or optimizing a certain aspect of your life. It can be used on its own, but it’s often used with a word ahead of it making it work in just about any scenario. While looksmaxxing may be the most well known application, it can be used throughout the day: you can be proteinmaxxing your breakfast, tokenmaxxing AI during your workday, and then end with cozymaxxing at night. The latest online controversy is heartbreaking, namely because there is a super talented, 3-year-old little boy in the middle of it. Nevada Pierre has a huge and growing social media presence because he’s got game; the videos posted show a toddler phenom on the soccer field and that’s what his parents say got other parents upset at a youth soccer game over the weekend. The sports organizer ultimately called 9-1-1 on the parents - admittedly not for an emergency - but because he claimed the mom was “unruly” after complaining her son was taken out of the game because he was “too good.” The highlight of this story: the cops, whose body cam footage shows officers who were there to protect and serve everyone that day.
