Renters in New Zealand express frustration over the lack of policies addressing their needs in the upcoming election. Advocates highlight that both major parties, Labour and the Greens, have not proposed significant changes to improve the rental situation. The Greens suggest capping rent increases at 2% annually, while Labour maintains its stance on property investors' tax deductions, leaving many renters feeling neglected and calling for urgent reforms.

In contrast, a recent poll indicates that while the general public is largely opposed to raising the superannuation age, a significant majority of business leaders support the idea. An RNZ Read research poll shows only 35% of the public favor the National Act's proposal to gradually increase the super age, while 82% of CEOs in the Herald's Mood of the Boardroom survey back the initiative, emphasizing the need to address the rising costs associated with superannuation.

Additionally, RetailNZ suggests that businesses should allow rough sleepers to remain in public spaces as new move-on orders are implemented. The police will have the authority to remove individuals acting disorderly, but RetailNZ's CEO notes that most retailers will focus on reporting such behavior rather than enforcing the orders. Meanwhile, a new initiative in the hospitality sector aims to reduce food waste, with a partnership allowing customers to purchase leftover food at discounted prices.
