TRUMP DENIES OFFERING ARMS TO CHINA, CONTRADICTING HIS OWN AMBASSADOR'S ACCOUNT US President Donald Trump has denied offering to sell American weapons to
China, directly contradicting his own ambassador, who said on Sunday that the
president had raised the prospect of arms sales during last week's summit
with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Speaking in the Oval Office on Monday, President Trump said he had never
heard of such a proposal (提議) — but then added that China would probably like
to buy US equipment because America makes better military hardware.
The State Department has issued a formal denial, saying US law prohibits arms
sales to China and that no such offer or plan exists.

Argentina Threatens Legal Action to stop UK Oil Project Off Falkland Islands Argentina is threatening international legal action to stop an oil project
off the disputed Falkland Islands.
President Javier Milei’s office said Monday that the United Kingdom has two
weeks to halt work on the Sea Lion development.
Otherwise, Argentina says it will ask an international maritime court for an
emergency order stopping the project.
The court’s orders are legally binding, but it cannot force the U.K. to
comply (遵守).
Britain controls the islands, which Argentina also claims.
Oil production is expected to begin in 2028.
Milei’s push comes as his popularity slips and U.S. President Donald Trump
suggests reconsidering U.S. neutrality in the sovereignty dispute.
