What Did Caleb Flynn Know The Night His Wife Was Murdered? Trial Insider Explains
Criminally ObsessedShow Notes
Caleb Flynn, a former American Idol contestant and worship pastor, is on trial for the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn — a middle school volleyball coach and mother of two who was shot twice while sleeping in their Tipp City, Ohio home. Caleb Flynn told 911 an intruder broke in and shot her; prosecutors say he staged the scene and killed her himself.
In this episode of Criminally Obsessed, investigative reporter Anne Emerson speaks with Angenette Levy, host of Crime Fix on Law & Crime, who has had a front-row seat in the courtroom every day of the trial. Levy describes what viewers watching from home can't see — the reactions of Ashley's parents as crime scene photos are shown, Flynn's shifting emotional state throughout testimony, and a jury that so far has revealed little.
Levy breaks down the state's circumstantial case, including the missing 9mm handgun prosecutors say was Flynn's, reported text messages between Flynn and another woman that included talk of wanting his wife dead, and inconsistencies in his account of where he was sleeping that night.
She also flags one detail she can't get past: how Flynn knew his wife had been shot twice in the head before anyone examined her.
