Join us for the September edition of the Simulcast Journal Club, hosted by Vic Brazil and Ben Symon. This month: demonstrating clinical outcomes from simulation based team training, different ways of identifying latent safety threats, how data visualisations might aid debriefing, and using simulation to refine our research study protocols and processes. The September papers

Join us for the August edition of the Simulcast Journal Club, hosted by Vic Brazil and Ben Symon. This was a throwback episode! As part of celebrating our 10 years of doing the journal club together we decided to look back at papers from our first year of the journal club. The conversation is a recap of the articles, but also some thoughts on how they sit in the subsequent 10 years of simulation practice.

AMEE is the International Association for Health Professions Education. This year the annual conference is on in Vienna, Austria from August 22 – 26. Each year – the AMEE Simulation Committee has a session in which 4 nominated papers are presented and judged. Leizl Nayahangan and Ross Scalese are on that committee and spoke to us about the event, the process and the papers. If you want to go to AMEE 2026… https://amee.org/events/amee-2026/. The Simulation Committee Journal club is on Tuesday 26th 0900. Turn up early ! Our guests Ross Scalese is a practicing General Internal Medicine physician; Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at the University of Miami (UM) Miller School of Medicine in Florida, USA; and Director of Educational Technology Development at UM's Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education. Leizl (LIEzl) Nayahangan is chair of the AMEE Simulation Committee, and a research scientist at the Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES) in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is currently completing her PhD, focusing on the implementation of simulation-based education.
