Show Notes

OpenAI says its models helped investigators examine forensic images from an encrypted audio device found hidden behind a television in an executive conference room at its San Francisco headquarters. Prosecutors allege employee Abdulrahman Alfozan planted the device, which was concealed in toilet paper and plugged into a USB port, and that a second similar recorder was later found in an unattended bag with his identification. OpenAI has not explained exactly how models contributed to identifying the employee, the FBI investigation is ongoing, and the company says it found no indication that model weights, source code, or customer data were improperly accessed.
