The Power of Mindset in Transforming our Health (and Brains) | Coach Laura Eiman, Ep.011
BrainHeal(th)Show Notes
Today, I am very honored to introduce Laura Eiman. Laura is a certified Confidence Coach who specializes in helping her clients develop mindset strategies to help them overcome challenges, achieve desired outcomes and transform important areas of their lives (like helping clients discover their greatest purpose after retirement). Laura spent two years during Covid studying with retired Navy SEAL Commander Mark Divine and his team to get her Unbeatable Mind coaching certification. She has been passionately abstinent from all processed sugar and junk foods for over 24 years. She's won a gold medal in Olympic Weightlifting and qualified for the world championships twice at the age of 64. And she launched a small business at the age of 50 that merely three years later gained the endorsement of Oprah, Rachel Ray and Barbara Walters. Laura conducts one on one and corporate group coaching as well as keynote speaking engagements. She's an amazing person who's been a good friend and mentor for years and actually helped me dial in my nutrition years back, which has led to such positive effects for my family. I'm really grateful to have her on with us today.

Today's guests didn't just build a business; they answered a personal calling. I'm honored to welcome mother-daughter duo Betty and Kristin Kemper, founders of Kemper House residential memory care communities and Kemper Cognitive Wellness, a clinic devoted to personalized medicine for better brain health. Together they are redefining how we care for people who may be going down the path toward cognitive decline or already living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Their journey began decades ago in long-term care and then became deeply personal when Alzheimer's touched their own family, first with Betty's mother-in-law (Kristin's grandmother) and later her husband (Kristin's father). Refusing to accept the idea that nothing could be done, Betty and Kristin set out to challenge the status quo by combining compassionate care with innovation, research, and hope. From opening their first Kemper House in 1999 to launching Kemper Cognitive Wellness and developing successful cognitive training programs such as BrainFit®, their work has transformed lives across Northeast Ohio and beyond. They are true pioneers in dementia care, and I'm grateful to have them with us today.
Today, I am very honored to introduce Dr. Terry Lynch. Terry is a physical therapist, EFT practitioner, and nutritional endocrinology practitioner along with other modalities she has adopted to promote natural healing for her clients. As a dedicated health professional, Dr. Terry Lynch helps others thrive naturally, guiding clients toward their fullest potential in unique and meaningful ways. Every step of the journey, she provides support, encouragement, and tools for transformation. It's not about her, but about her clients' victories. Together, they focus on nurturing the body, mind, and spirit for lasting wellness. Whether it's gaining energy, finding balance, or achieving natural health goals, her clients' success is her mission. Every win brings her clients closer to a healthier, happier life. All this after a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis over three decades ago. She has been a tremendously positive influence on me and my family and I am very grateful to have her with us today.
Today, I am very honored to introduce Dr. Matt Bernstein. Dr. Bernstein is a board-certified psychiatrist and a leading voice in metabolic psychiatry, with 25 years of experience helping individuals achieve full mental health and functional recovery. He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University in English literature and earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Trained at MGH/McLean, he served as chief resident and later held leadership roles including psychiatrist-in-charge and assistant medical director of the schizophrenia and bipolar inpatient program. He also serves as chief medical officer at Ellenhorn, developing community-based strategies to optimize mental health. For the past five years, Dr. Bernstein has focused on metabolic psychiatry, first in his private practice, and then at Ellenhorn. More recently, he created Accord's comprehensive program and is sharing his expertise through podcasts, national conferences, and briefings for members of Congress. He co-organized the first public conference on metabolic psychiatry, and co-leads a privately funded study evaluating outcomes of Accord's pioneering interventions. He serves on advisory and non-profit boards, including Metabolic Mind, Meru Health, The Metabolic Revolution, and the Coalition for Metabolic Health, helping advance the field both clinically and publicly. He is an amazing wealth of information and I am very grateful to have him on with us today.
Today I am honored to introduce Robyn Dobbins. Robyn is a certified health advisor with the Nutrition Network and a member of the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners. She specializes in personalized, evidence-based strategies to help clients achieve sustainable wellness and metabolic health. For years, Robyn battled bipolar disorder, OCD and depression. Embracing a low-carb ketogenic lifestyle transformed her health, supporting a sustained 50 lb weight loss and mental wellness recovery. Inspired by this life-changing transformation, she now helps others find healing through personalized metabolic therapy through her coaching and community at Harbinger of Health, LLC. Driven by gratitude and a strong desire to give back, she volunteers for various metabolic health organizations, participates in clinical studies and hosts the podcast, Ketobiography, where she shares stories and insights to educate and inspire individuals exploring metabolic health and mental wellness. In addition, Robyn serves as Community Coordinator for the nonprofit Metabolic Collective. In this role, she builds inclusive online communities that nurture authentic connections and peer support centered on Metabolic Mind's Think+Smart framework – a toolkit developed by lived experience experts that helps members improve brain and body energy use through nutritional ketosis and sustainable lifestyle practices. She is an amazing person with an inspiring story and I am very grateful to have her here with us today. In this video, Robin Dobbins shares her journey towards improved mental health by embracing a low carb diet. She offers insights into achieving a healthy lifestyle and the significance of wellness education for sustained well-being. Robin's story is a testament to the power of dietary choices, including the keto and carnivore diets, in healing depression and enhancing overall health.
I am very honored to introduce Mimi Morgan. Mimi has an incredible story of resilience and a unique healing journey that many of us will find inspiring. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's, rheumatoid arthritis and other serious neurological autoimmune conditions, Mimi faced rapid health decline. After conventional medical approaches failed to improve her condition, Mimi adopted a radical metabolic therapy that helped her transform her health and helped her to heal. She is an incredible role model and I am very grateful for her taking the time to be with us today.
