Show Notes
In this episode of The Traitors NZ Group Chat, Sharyn and Steph debrief the opening episodes of the season and get the ultimate behind-the-scenes look from executive producer Andrew Szusterman. Andrew has produced some of the biggest reality television formats in New Zealand, and he reveals exactly what it takes to get this massive psychological game off the ground.
We talk about the genius casting choices, including a youth pastor forced to lie for the game and a super fan playing dumb to get her hands on the prize money. Andrew explains the strict rules the cast must follow, including a complete ban on phones and devices that leaves players having technology withdrawals. We also find out how the production team pulls off the dramatic gate twists, the tactical layout of the missions, and the spooky history of Castle Clermont in Timaru where the show is filmed.
