Something very strange is happening on the campaign trail as President Donald Trump crisscrosses America desperately trying to rescue Republican control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. With his approval ratings collapsing, the Iran war dragging on, and the American people increasingly frustrated by an economy that looks nothing like the promised Golden Age, the president has suddenly become fascinated with describing other men’s bodies, particularly Senator Jon Husted’s muscular backside, shoulders, legs and feet. Then there’s his continuing celebration of the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.,” which he calls the “gay national anthem,” while telling audiences how much Melania hates watching him dance to it. But what if these increasingly bizarre performances are not simply Trump losing control of the narrative? What if they are helping him deliberately change it? Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon famously described a political technique called “flood the zone,” overwhelming the news media with a nonstop barrage of distractions and controversies until the important stories get buried beneath the spectacle. Pay no attention to that man behind the golden curtain.

While Americans are watching viral videos of Trump talking about men’s bodies and dancing to disco music, the war with Iran continues to produce consequences that no amount of political theater can make disappear. Iranian forces have intensified their attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices remain painfully elevated, and Tehran is reportedly attempting to use the approaching midterm elections to increase economic pressure on Washington. Remember, this is the same president who celebrated the obliteration of Iran’s nuclear facilities and promised the American people an end to endless wars. Yet months later, American military forces remain deeply engaged in the Middle East, the Iranian nuclear question remains unresolved, and American families are paying the price at the gas pump. Meanwhile, inflation remains stubbornly elevated, and a recent Reuters/Ipsos survey puts Trump’s approval rating at an astonishing 31%. Those are the headlines that should be dominating the national conversation, not the president’s running commentary about another man’s anatomy. Whether by deliberate calculation or political instinct, every fresh controversy gives the media another shiny object to chase while the consequences of his administration’s policies continue mounting.

There is something almost surreal taking place in the world this morning. After months of relentless warfare in the Middle East, economic upheaval, political chaos and increasingly frightening international headlines, we appear to have entered what can best be described as the eye of the hurricane. The end times hurricane. We have reached that strange, deceptive moment when the winds temporarily subside, the skies seem to clear, and everything becomes eerily quiet. But anyone who has ever lived through a major hurricane, and here in Florida we’ve lived through a bunch of them, knows that the eye is not the end of the storm. It is the brief interval between the devastation you have already experienced and the devastation that’s still coming. The most dangerous thing you can do while standing in the eye of a hurricane is convince yourself that the storm is over. I’m here to tell you it’s not, not by a long shot.
The world is becoming accustomed to things that should be shaking it wide awake. Israel has raised its military readiness as violence continues in Gaza and the West Bank, while the confrontation with Hezbollah remains unresolved beneath Lebanon’s fragile ceasefire. Saudi Arabia is struggling to defend its airports and infrastructure against Houthi missiles and drones. Today, a Houthi missile attack reportedly killed at least 20 government troops in Yemen. Meanwhile, the confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz continues threatening the movement of oil through one of the world’s most important shipping routes. These conflicts reach far beyond the people directly under fire: disrupted supplies and higher prices carry their consequences into households thousands of miles away.

The demonstration is astonishing, and when you place it alongside AI’s growing ability to interpret information, plan tasks and operate machinery, the implications reach far beyond a new sports car. We are watching technologies converge that could reshape how people work, travel, communicate and make decisions. This is a vivid illustration of a world experiencing an extraordinary increase in knowledge. “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Yet increased knowledge brings an ancient question roaring back into view: what happens when mankind’s growing abilities only serve its pride, and not the God that gave those talents? For months, President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have been assuring the American people that Iran’s nuclear program was obliterated, its missile manufacturing capabilities destroyed, and its military machine crushed beneath the overwhelming firepower of the United States and Israel. Victory was declared, the speeches were made, and the White House celebrated what it portrayed as one of the greatest military achievements in modern history. But now comes a bombshell report from the Jerusalem Post revealing that Iran is not only rebuilding its ballistic missile and drone arsenals, it is actively fortifying its nuclear installations and preparing for the next war with America and Israel!
