“Our world is more isolated and lonely than ever before. We need more remote work opportunities and a greater sense of connectedness and meaning. Naya strives to be a digital studio and ecosystem that can facilitate a sense of community, collaboration, and connection across the world at a time when we need it most.” - Saad Rajan and Vivek HV, of @naya__studioUploaded 22-04-20.To learn more about i-lab venture Naya Studio, check out their profile on our Facebook page or visit www.naya.studio Learn more about your ad choices. Note: There will NOT be a Longwood to ilab shuttle.Uploaded 02-12-14Information is a valuable asset to any life sciences or technology venture. This substantive session will help to frame data-related limitations, systems and practices that new companies are likely to encounter. The collection, analysis, storage and disclosure of information is often critical for developing and commercializing products, establishing strategic collaborations, securing regulatory approvals, and completing corporate acquisitions and other transactions. When information includes personally identifiable information, it is necessary to address special regulatory and contractual considerations in a company’s earliest stages. By pursuing data privacy and security “by design,” startup companies can be prepared for the privacy and security landscape and, hopefully, avoid burdensome “retrofitting” efforts that can disrupt future growth. You will learn:- how to navigate the increasingly complex regulatory framework governing personally identifiable information, including the regulation of health-related data- which key contractual issues affect your venture companies that handle such data through their license agreements, collaborations and sales contracts This presentation will be led by partners of the WilmerHale law firm to provide an overview of key regulatory and contractual considerations most likely to affect life sciences and technology startup companies. - Barry Hurewitz, Regulatory and Government Affairs practice- Jeff Johnson, Technology Transaction and Licensing practiceLearn more about the Harvard Innovation Lab at http://i-lab.harvard.edu/ and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/innovationlab and like us on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/harvardinnovationlab Learn more about your ad choices. The Other Side speaker series engages innovation luminaries from across the globe to share “the other side” of their journeys: their successes – and their failures – and their perspective on what it takes to excel in today’s complex world.Uploaded 19-04-16We were ecstatic to have Stéphane Bancel, President and CEO of Moderna Therapeutics, join us as our speaker in the Other Side series. Under Bancel’s leadership, Moderna has become one of the fastest-growing companies in the biotech industry, raising more than $1.2 billion since 2011 to develop messenger RNA therapeutics. Much of Moderna’s unprecedented rate of growth while Bancel has been at the helm can be attributed to how the company has leveraged its novel platform technology, as well as its spinout ventures and partnerships with AstraZeneca, Merck and Alexion. Prior to Moderna, Bancel was the CEO of bioMérieux, a world leader in the diagnostics industry, where he was named #1 CEO in the Biotechnology sector according to the 2011 Thomson Reuters Pan European EXTEL Study. As we dove into the other side of Bancel’s journey, we learned about the various roles he’s played since graduating from Harvard business: From managing manufacturing at Eli Lilly to serving as Senior Partner at Flagship Ventures. More importantly, we discovered the underlying motivations that have contributed to his ambitious belief and vision for making Moderna one of the most successful and impactful biotech companies in the world. This is a must-see talk and discussion with successful entrepreneur/VC Raj Kapoor (HBS 96). Raj is the Managing Director of the Mayfield Fund, the cofounder/CEO of Snapfish, and now founder of "cofounder.co." He discusses his new model, cofounder.co, which is designed to help new entrepreneurs cofound companies in the Bay Area, giving them the benefit of experience and his broad network. Uploaded 11-02-13cofounder.cocofounder.co is a new innovative entity to help startups and entrepreneurs reach their full potential in the Bay Area. We are a group of experienced partners with founder/CEO and investor experience. Raj Kapoor is the first founding partner (others will be added later) and will work very closely with a few tech startups that either reside in the Bay Area or want to relocate there. With cofounder.co, a partner joins the company as a cofounder at the earliest stages and spends the equivalent of one day a week helping in all areas of the company including financing, recruiting, strategy, product development, and mentoring the CEO. It's a much deeper and focused involvement than most angels, advisors, and accelerators and for a longer period of time. As a minority cofounder shareholder in the company, we bring commitment and more importantly, the valuable experience that high potential entrepreneurs may be missing.
