The inside story of Rwanda's new F1 circuit design

The Race F1 Podcast

Show Notes

We get the inside story of the new Rwanda F1 circuit in the latest episode of The Race F1 Podcast. Edd Straw is joined by Jon Noble, who recently visited the site where the recently announced African Grand Prix will take place in the early 2030s.

Jon tells us all the details he discovered about the race, before introducing his in-depth conversation with GPDA chairman, former F1 driver and Rwanda track designer Alex Wurz. Wurz explains the philosophy behind the circuit design, how he’s tried to engineer in overtaking opportunities, and why he expects the Suzuka and Spa-like circuit to be a drivers’ favourite.

With Rwanda securing another high-profile sporting deal, we also address the concerns around holding a race in the country.
