Locked On Panthers - Daily Podcast On The Florida PanthersShow Notes
On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) and Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) break down the Panthers 3-2 shootout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Preseason game number two. Florida experimenting distributing the minutes more to the Lundell line and giving new guys looks in the shootout. The story of the game was once again the new top line where Brady Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov produced on the scoresheet once again, as Brady scored his third of the preseason and Barkov with his second. Barkov responded just 18 seconds after Carolina tied it after their first two shots of the game. Panthers are winning their battles in the neutral zone when their defensemen flip the puck out of their own end, allowing them to easily gain the zone. After a goalie change with Akira Schmid coming in, Carolina tied it less than two minutes later. It was a physical third period as the game got closer to the end, but despite going to the box with less than five minutes left, the Panthers gained momentum back by drawing a penalty of their own, but could not convert before regulation ended. Panthers also had quality chances in OT, and chances when short handed, but could not get through. Eetu Luostarinen was a big bright spot on the Panthers third line on Tuesday, Cats were committed to blocking shos when down 5-on-3 towards the end of the first and going into the second. Is the lack of foot speed going to catch up to them with the penalties they took on Tuesday? Is Jacob Markstrom's rebound control troublesome? We discuss all of this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.

More from Locked On Panthers - Daily Podcast On The Florida Panthers
On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) and Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) break down the Panthers' 4-0 shutout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Cooper Black made his NHL debut as the Cats were on the second end of a back-to-back, but the Panthers could not generate scoring chances to start the game. Pittsburgh would then score after a turnover at the blue line, and that wad the theme of the night, where three of the four goals against were off the rush. Foot speed is still an issue for this Panthers team, and they were too perimeter based that Arturs Silovs was able to win his third game in a row against the Panthers. Panthers had an opportunity to cut the deficit to one after a four-minute double minor that crossed over into the third period, but still could not buy a goal. Head Coach Paul Maurice had some interesting comments after losing the last two games by a combined eight goals. The team has two days off before their afternoon tilt in Chicago, how will practice be handled? Will there be a switch up of the lines? We discuss all of this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.
On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) and Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) broke down the Panthers' 5-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators in Brady Tkachuk's return. A hostile environment that threw chants left and right, along with booing him non-stop even during the Senators tribute video. Brady responded with a power play goal nine seconds into it, and gave a shrug to the crowd at the Canadian Tire Centre. However, the Panthers didn't score after that, where they failed to register more than 10 shots in a period on Wednesday night. Florida got into penalty trouble in the second period, but none of their goals against were on special teams. Panthers also failed to take advantage of G Samuel Ersson coming into the game after Linus Ullmark left the game with an injury, only registering one shot on goal after that. Cats then eventually got caught in transition where the game then became out of reach. It's two divisional losses out of two to start the season, and the Panthers have a quick turnaround Thursday night in PIttsburgh. We discuss all of this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the Panthers' 8-3 win over the Seattle Kraken in Sunrise on Saturday night, as the Cats made history with three consecutive games where a player scored a natural hat trick, as Carter Verhaeghe was the latest to do it after Brady Tkachuk's two. Panthers also had a franchise first with two players getting a hat trick in a game where Sam Bennett also joined the party with one of his own, all starting out with a goal in the first minute, where it was the first game this season that the Panthers scored first in regulation. Jacob Markstrom was back in the crease after missing the last two games, but looks like he will be missing more time after Cooper Black was recalled on Tuesday. Panthers will now start a four-game road trip on Wednesday as it will. be Brady Tkachuk's return since the trade, could the Panthers put themselves in a great position to be way above the playoff line? We discuss all of this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.
On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) and Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) broke down the Panthers' 3-2 OT win over the Vancouver Canucks in comeback fashion. Panthers let two goals in the back of their net after having the ice tilted, but had a hard time solving Levi Merilainen. The Cats eventually broke through in the third period midway through where Brady Tkachuk got his first of three, and also tied the game with less than a minute to go and the OT winner. It's the second straight game with a natural hat trick as Akira Schmid won his first game as a Panther, and the Cats keep banking points. We discuss out three stars of the game, when we knew the game was won, and preview Saturday's game vs. Seattle. We discuss all of this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.
