Revive & Thrive - Managing Stress and Burnout

Show Notes

In this conversation, Petra shares her journey through personal loss, her role as a leader, the importance of vulnerability in the workplace, and willingness to access support. Petra discusses her experiences with grief after losing her father and beloved dog, and how these events impacted her mental health. Petra emphasises the significance of reaching out for help, normalising conversations about mental health, and the role of supportive leadership in fostering a healthy work environment. The discussion highlights the need for self-care and the importance of recognising one's own struggles and how best to respond.

Takeaways It's okay to struggle; you're not alone. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. We all have vulnerabilities; it's human. Grief is not linear; it's a process. You can't just power through; something has to change. It's important to normalize mental health conversations. Baking is a form of self-care for me. You have to give yourself permission to enjoy life again. Leadership is about recognizing when to ask for help. Sometimes just sitting with someone is enough.
