A set of aerial photographs of a remote Pacific atoll has sparked global interest in the search for long lost aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. In 1932, Earhart was first woman to fly solo and nonstop across the Atlantic. But in 1937, along with her navigator, Earhart vanished over the Pacific while attempting to circumnavigate the globe, spawning decades of speculation about her fate. Recent interest in Earhart led the New Zealand's Air Force Museum to publish images of remote Nikumaroro atoll just last week. Matthew O'Sullivan is the Air Force Museum of New Zealand's Keeper of Photographs. He speaks to Emile.
