The Fight Beyond Cancer: Equity, Access & Opportunity with Dr. Eugene Manley Jr.
The Inul Chowdhury ShowShow Notes
Today’s guest is someone who is transforming the conversation around cancer care, health equity, and STEMM education. Dr. Eugene Manley Jr. is a cancer scientist, health equity strategist, nonprofit founder, and speaker with more than 20 years of experience across research, nonprofits, and program leadership. He is the founder of the STEMM & Cancer Health Equity Foundation, an organization recognized as a 2025 Best STEM Diversity and Cancer nonprofit for its work creating more equitable access to healthcare information, cancer resources, and STEMM opportunities for underserved communities. What makes Eugene’s story especially powerful is that his mission is deeply personal. From growing up as a first-generation student in Detroit to earning his PhD, he experienced firsthand the realities of medical racism and healthcare disparities. Instead of letting those experiences define him, he turned them into fuel for change. Today, Eugene works with hospitals, cancer centers, universities, and nonprofits to help make cancer care more understandable, more accessible, and more equitable for the people who need it most. His talks combine personal storytelling, research, and practical strategies that leave audiences with clear actions they can take — not just inspiration. In this conversation, we’ll talk about cancer equity, bias in healthcare systems, creating opportunities for underserved students in STEMM, and what it really takes to build programs and communities that people can trust and use. Today, I’m joined by Shannon Grace, a healer and advocate for emotional awareness and personal transformation. Shannon’s journey began in the corporate world, but after her own experience of overcoming childhood trauma, she discovered a deeper calling—to help others heal by first doing the inner work herself. Through her work with renowned practitioner Dr. John Amaral, Shannon discovered the powerful connection between emotional awareness, self-care, and healing. After years of unconsciously repressing emotions as a survival mechanism, she began learning how to feel, process, and release those emotions rather than running from them. Today, Shannon helps others reconnect with themselves, embrace their emotions, and move toward greater emotional freedom and authenticity. In this conversation, we’re going to explore why we often suppress our emotions, how unresolved experiences can shape the way we live, why learning to truly feel can be part of the healing process, and how forgiveness can help us reclaim our power. Shannon, welcome to the show.

Today's guest, Dr. Shubhendu Kulshreshtha, is a clinician, coach, innovator, and entrepreneur who is on a mission to help healthcare professionals turn their ideas into meaningful impact. As an Emergency Medicine Registrar, QSIR Practitioner, ICF Associate Certified Coach, and host of the Clinician Founder Podcast, he has spent years studying what separates people with great ideas from those who actually bring those ideas to life. Through coaching, quality improvement, innovation projects, and countless conversations with founders, he discovered a powerful truth: ideas are common, but people who can execute on them are rare. He's the founder of Clinician Founder Everything, a growing platform designed to help clinicians find problems worth solving, test ideas quickly, build traction, and create impact beyond traditional patient care. His work has helped healthcare professionals transform exam struggles into published books, launch pilot programs, and gain clarity on their entrepreneurial journey. He is also the winner of the first-ever Clinical AI OpenClaw Hackathon 2026 and is building a thriving community for clinician founders who want to think bigger, move faster, and build meaningful projects without leaving medicine behind. Today's guest is Christopher Hensley, a financial services professional with more than 22 years of experience helping people make better decisions about their future. As the longtime host of the Money Matters radio show and the author of Digital Kaizen: Continuous Improvement in the Age of AI, Voice, and Advisors, Christopher explores one of the most important questions of our time: How do we embrace powerful technologies like AI without losing what makes us human? In a world filled with constant distractions, automation, and information overload, Christopher advocates for a different approach. Through the concept of Digital Kaizen, he teaches professionals, creators, and business leaders how to build small, consistent reflection loops that compound into greater clarity, wisdom, and long-term success. Today we'll discuss AI and trust, voice-first thinking, building durable authority in a noisy world, creating systems that work for you rather than against you, and why the future belongs to those who can combine technology with human insight.
