Show Notes
I’m back! Season 8! Last season I ended it with a punk legend in Dez Cadena so I thought its only fitting that I start this season with another punk legend in Kid Congo Powers who has played in such bands as The Cramps, The Gun Club, Nick Cave + The Bad Seeds to name a few…… This was a really great talk and if you are into the history of punk ala 1970’s then this one is definitely for you! You don’t get to hear too many conversations about 70’s punk from guys who were actually there and in it… I bring you that this week!
More from Cone's Cave
I’m happy this week to have fellow Canadians Aurora and Cam of Wine Lips on my show! We’ve all heard the term buzz band before and I think thats exactly what I would use to describe Wine Lips even though they’ve been around for over 10 years. This garage punk band just keeps getting more and more popular. Lots going on with Wine Lips….. Their tour schedule is heavy, they have a new album out and they’ve even managed to catch the attention of Iggy Pop who praised the band. What more do you need? If you like cool garage punk or want to possibly discover you’re new favourite band this episode is for you!
I’m back with Season 13 Episode #1! Here we go with a new season of Cone’s Cave and I have a great way to start it. A heavy way to start Season 13, just the way I like it! I have fellow bassist Troy Sanders of Mastodon on my show this week! Mastodon just released a brand new album “Marrow Deep” in Aug so we touch on that as well as whole wack of stuff concerning Mastodon past and present. This interview goes deep and we get into it all! Make sure you tune in!
This is the season finale of Season 12 and we end it with a really fun one! I have Joel O’Keeffe who is the front man, lead singer and guitar player for Australian Hard Rock Band Airbourne! This is one of the most high energy interviews I’ve done on this show, things are moving fast and stories are coming quick and are very entertaining…. Picture this interview like a live show, there’s a lot of highs and a few segways but the whole time you’re smiling! Don’t miss this one its really good, I had a great time talking to Joel and lets be honest, the Australian's have the greatest accents ever so that doesn’t hurt either….
This week I’m changing it up a little bit. I had the pleasure of talking to the very funny Canadian comedian Keith Pedro and he is on my show this week! I’ve seen his stand up show before and I knew I had to have him on my show…… He agreed so here we are! We talk about everything to do with comedy and comedians and this is a very in depth conversation. If you like to laugh and you like comedy which I hope is at least 99% of people then this episode is definitely for you!
This week we go heavy with fellow Canadian Liam Cormier, front man of Cancer Bats! Liam is involved in a lot of stuff including owning a clothing line Treadwell, riding dirt bikes for fun and for charity, Djing Emo Nites and of course rocking on stage with the Cancer Bats who just released a brand new album recently! A lot of interesting things to talk about with Liam so I suggest you tune in for this one for sure!
