The Adelaide 36ers are gearing up for a significant reunion dinner this Friday, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their 1986 championship win. The event, hosted at the Highway, is expected to draw around 150 attendees, including former players and coaches from that iconic team. Notable figures such as Al Green, Mark Davis, and Peter Ali will be present, alongside MC John Casey, who is preparing to share stories and memories from that era.

Scotty Ninnis, a key player from the championship team, expressed excitement about the event, emphasizing the importance of connecting past and present players. He noted that the 36ers' current coach, Trevor Gleeson, has been proactive in involving former players in training sessions, fostering a sense of community and tradition within the club. The reunion will also coincide with the 36ers' game against the Brisbane Bullets on Sunday, where the team will don retro jerseys reminiscent of the 1986 strip.

In addition to the reunion, the Cystic Fibrosis Australia Charity Golf Day is set for Friday, combining efforts with Mates in Construction to raise funds for both causes. The event will feature a $20,000 hole-in-one prize and aims to support mental health initiatives within the construction industry while also benefiting those affected by cystic fibrosis. With a strong turnout expected, the organizers hope to make this an annual event, furthering their commitment to supporting small charities and community initiatives.
