Sweet Life, the Peach Life: Part 1 (Courtney Revolution on the RHOA Reunion and RHUGT)
Andy's Girls: A Real Housewives PodcastShow Notes
Inspired by the second part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, Sarah heads to Melissa Gorga's mansion's basement studio to remix Cynthia's new bop (DJ 55 Cynt and DJ Spiritually Mid-Twenties Plus? Magic). After realizing a 16 bar cut really requires more than a couple jabs, Sarah returns to the cloff to deep dive the splendor that is RHOA alongside a creator ready to mention it all, Courtney Revolution (pop culture commentator and social media girlie). Over the course of this sweet life, peach life, two-parter, Sarah and Courtney unpack the highs, lows, and whoas from the second part of the RHOA reunion (and second ep of RHUGT), including Shamea and K. Michelle's different version of events in how their relationship started and WTF happened at the hookah bar (shoutout to Mama Morton's...zest), Cynthia Bailey, the newest Bravo musical icon, Shamea's blank check apology and difficulty managing perception/performance, Kelli's attempt to serve comedy and other people's drama (Porsha, Angela, others!), the difference between wanting a big sister vs. attorney (and why the two aren't possible together), Phaedra and Pinky's argument about flippancy toward Pinky's investors (and a "significant device" comment reported to producers), what RHOSLC could learn from RHOA (and RHUGT), Lisa Barlow's melancholy over feeling happiness without signs of a threat, Kyle and Vicki's convo about mourning a broken marriage (Vicki's advice: feel worse!), the joy of a pajama party, and more. No teeth were harmed in the recording of this episode, but maybe a couple hours prior - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 824! Part 1! Thank You to AG's Sponsors! Sarah returns refreshed and rejuvenated after a delightful 44-min-plus-commercials PJ to Moskito Island, where the only sounds heard above the ocean waves were Carole and Sai yelling about Daddy Warbucks. After singing "The sun will come out tomorrow" (a lyric named in honor of the hiatus between Seasons 15 and 16), she realizes that after an incredible week in Housewives, it's time to spend an afternoon with a Bravoholic pal ready to mention it all: Troy McEady (host of the pods "Beyond the Blinds" and "What's Your Issue"). Tofu makes them almond lattes (sorry Daisy, good help is easy to find) and leads them to the cloffice to discuss new details on Rob's dating-while-married profile (amid Tia's reaction), Robyn's work as a friend-of, Dr. Wendy vs. Gizelle, Mary's role as mediator and counselor-at-large, Whitney's turn on Quai (and her earlier promises of friendship to Meredith), unanswered questions about Bronwyn's role as a Housewife, Carole and Sai's conversation about Daddy Warbucks (and a failed argument about equalizing), Troy and Sarah's Trigger Housewives, and Jill's historic series of implosions. Over the course of this two-parter, Sarah and AG guest cohost Tom Smyth deep dive their reactions to the Golden Life premiere (and whether nostalgia can carry through a season of technically new content), Sonja's upset about a RHONY interaction from a decade prior, how upset is viewed/judged when the focus is on Sai v. Carole v. Daisy, Erin's gossip about Pavit, a very strong start for Potomac, Tom's love of a possible lightning-rod RHOSLC cast member, and why he's enjoying RHOC. Sarah realizes before taking a trip that she absolutely didn't end up taking, she needs to unpack some emotional baggage. So after putting a variety of neutrals back into the Chic Europe Sass section of the cloffice, she invites over her Bravoholic pal, writer Tom Smyth, for a spiritual opposite day (very different Housewives opinions, how blessed!). Over the course of this two-parter, Sarah and Tom deep dive their reactions to the Golden Life premiere (and whether nostalgia can carry through a season of technically new content), Sonja's upset about a RHONY interaction from a decade prior, how upset is viewed/judged when the focus is on Sai v. The journey continues. Over the course of this two-parter, Sarah and AG guest cohost Alison Leiby unpack the wild twists and turns of this season of RHONY (and squabbles online), the rumors and nastiness around Jessel's marriage (and potential breadcrumbs left by Erin about Sai), unpacking the nuance vs. lack thereof in Carole and Sai's back and forth, "colorful past" questions, Sarah's time at the Golden Life premiere party, and more.
