Think and Grow Rich for Sales: Why Thought, Desire, and Faith Create Results PART 1
Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional LearningShow Notes
Episode 381 reframes Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich for sales professionals, reviewing Chapters 1–3 to show how thought, desire, and faith create predictable sales results. Andrea Samadi connects these timeless principles to practical steps—how to set burning goals, build unwavering belief through repetition, and transfer certainty to buyers. Listeners will get actionable frameworks (a five-step belief plan and the six steps to impress desire) and a clear roadmap for aligning mindset with sales execution, plus a preview of the next episode continuing the series.
Welcome back to our final series of SEASON 14 of The Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning Podcast, where we connect the science-based evidence behind social and emotional learning and emotional intelligence training for improved well-being, achievement, productivity and results—using what I saw as the missing link (since we weren’t taught this when we were growing up in school), the application of practical neuroscience. I’m Andrea Samadi, and seven years ago, launched this podcast with a question I had never truly asked myself before: (and that is) If productivity and results matter to us—and they do now more than ever—how exactly are we using our brain to make them happen? Most of us were never taught how to apply neuroscience to improve productivity, results, or well-being. About a decade ago, I became fascinated by the mind-brain-results connection—and how science can be applied to our everyday lives. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to bring you the world’s top experts—so together, we can explore the intersection of science and social-emotional learning. We’ll break down complex ideas and turn them into practical strategies we can use every day for predictable, science-backed results. Connecting Back to Our 6-Part Think and Grow Rich Series (2022) For today’s EP 381, we are connecting back to our 6-PART Series from 2022[i], where we covered the well-known book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, to make 2022 our best year ever. Today we will cover: ✔ Chapter 1: The Power of Thought: A 5 STEP Plan to Improve Sales (Outer World) by Improving Your Thoughts (Inner World) ✔ Chapter 2: Desire With a 6 STEP Plan to Achieve ANY Goal ✔ Chapter 3: Faith With 3 Ways to Build Unwavering Faith That Will Change Your Life
Back in 2022, we didn’t just read Think and Grow Rich—we lived inside it as we launched 2022. Over a 6-part podcast series that began the beginning of January 2022, we walked through this book chapter by chapter, not as theory, but as a personal operating system for growth, performance, and results. This series will always be special for me, as I had heard that my mentor, who inspired me to study this book, Bob Proctor, became ill while I was writing the last episode in the series PART 6. He passed away before it was released, and I’ll always remember this episode series, connected to the many people, globally, that he inspired through his work. At the time, the focus of our 6 PART Series was broad. We covered:
Personal development Mindset mastery Vision, purpose, and belief
We covered the BASICS of this book that Bob Proctor studied for his entire lifetime (over 50 years) that can be applied to whatever it is that you want to create with your life. Today, we are going to look at this timeless piece of knowledge, through a new lens. What we’re covering today—Think and Grow Rich for Sales—is not new material. It’s the application of this series, towards a specific discipline. You could apply this book to any discipline, but this one, I have wanted to cover for a very long time. How the 6-Part Series Maps DIRECTLY to Sales Mastery Here’s the reframe that matters: Every principle we covered in 2022 becomes a sales advantage when applied correctly. In order for me to have gained this understanding, I have to give credit, where credit is due here. I would not have been able to cover our 2022 series without following Paul Martine

In this episode Andrea Samadi launches Phase 4 of the Brain's Operating System for Human Performance, focusing on perception, emotion, and social intelligence. She introduces the Connection Loop as a roadmap for understanding how we see ourselves and others, how emotions shape interactions, and how Mindsight supports deeper listening and reflection.

Using a classroom story from Dr. Dan Siegel, Andrea draws four practical takeaways—expand your perception by listening, notice your inner reaction before responding, make room for individuality and belonging, and turn shared insight into action. She also presents the Third Energy framework to show how meaningful connections can create lasting contributions.

Listeners are invited to try one conversation with curiosity, check their assumptions, and take one follow-up action to translate understanding into change that influences classrooms, workplaces, and relationships.

EP 409 — Introducing Phase 4: The Connection Loop—Perception, Mindsight, and What We Create Together

Welcome back to Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning Podcast, where we bridge neuroscience, social and emotional learning, and human performance so we can create measurable improvements in our well-being, achievement, leadership, productivity, and results.

I’m Andrea Samadi, and today we officially launch Phase 4 of The Brain’s Operating System for Human Performance: (where we will cover) Perception, Emotion, and Social Intelligence. In this phase, we’ll explore how we see ourselves and others, how we understand and respond to emotions, and how these abilities shape our relationships, learning, leadership, and ultimately, our performance.

We have spent our first three phases exploring the foundations of individual capacity. Now, we bring those foundations into our relationships.

Because we can be regulated, motivated, and capable—and still misunderstand the person beside us.

We can enter a conversation intending to help and leave someone feeling unheard.

Or we can listen in a way that changes our understanding and opens a possibility we had not considered.

In this episode, we will:

✓ Review how our first three phases prepared us for this next step.

✓ Introduce the Connection Loop, our roadmap for exploring perception, emotion, relationships, belonging, and performance.

✓ Revisit a clip from Dr. Daniel Siegel about mindsight, identity, and connection.

✓ Turn the lessons from that clip into practical actions for classrooms, workplaces, and relationships.

✓ Introduce the Third Energy Framework—how the imprint of a meaningful relationship can become a contribution that reaches others and make a significant contribution to the world.

✓ Begin preparing for the upcoming Journey of the Mind workbook, planned to be released summer 2027, which will help us bring all five phases into a personal roadmap for growth.

As you listen today, keep one question in mind:

How can understanding another person change what I do next?

WHERE WE HAVE BEEN

In Phase 1—Regulation and Safety, we asked:

Is our nervous system regulated and safe enough to learn, connect, and perform?

We explored sleep, rhythm, breath, recovery, and relational safety—the conditions that support readiness for learning and life.

In Phase 2—Neurochemistry and Motivation, we asked:

What moves us to act—and what helps us sustain that action?

Through the Motivation Loop, we examined belief, attention, action, feedback, reward, and recovery.

Then, in Phase 3—Movement, Learning, and Cognition, we asked:

How do we build the physical and cognitive capacity required for learning and performance?

We explored how movement prepares us, attention supports learning, repetition strengthens skills, and recovery allows adaptation.
Episode 408 wraps Phase 3 by integrating what we learned about how movement, attention, practice, nutrition, and recovery work together to build capacity for learning and performance. Andrea Samadi reviews the movement loop—move, prepare, focus on what’s salient, encode through practice, then recover and reflect—and shares practical ways to apply these ideas in daily life. Listen for guidance on measuring habits, finding gaps between effort and recovery, choosing one manageable practice to repeat, and turning observed patterns into actionable change. This episode closes Phase 3 and prepares listeners for Phase 4 on perception, emotion, and social intelligence. In this Episode 408, we will cover:
In this episode Andrea Samadi revisits a 2020 conversation with trainer Jason Wittrock, exploring how movement, recovery, and nutrition interact to support learning, adaptation, and performance. They discuss sustainable eating strategies—like focusing on food quality, experimenting to find what works for you, and using tracking as a short-term tool rather than a lifetime rule.
In this episode Andrea Samadi explains the concept of sleep stress — a wearable-device measured how physiologically activated your body remains during sleep — and places it within a neuroscience-based movement and recovery framework. She reviews the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic vs. parasympathetic), how WHOOP estimates sleep stress from heart rate and HRV, and why trends over weeks matter more than single nights. Using her six-month data, Andrea shares how recovery habits and removing alcohol coincided with an 89% drop in nightly high sleep stress. The episode ends with practical steps and a seven-day experiment to help you observe and reduce nighttime physiological activation by changing daytime behaviors, sleep environment, and training timing so your body can better recover and adapt. When Sleep Isn’t Rest—What “Sleep Stress” Reveals About Recovery: The Story Behind My 89% Drop in Sleep Stress
Episode 406 explains how movement prepares the brain but does not guarantee learning. It traces the full sequence—movement, RAS-driven readiness, salience and relevance, focused attention, encoding, retrieval and repetition, and recovery and sleep—that turns activation into lasting memory and performance. The episode offers practical steps in a Move–Focus–Learn protocol: use brief movement to create readiness, clearly identify and remove distractions for one learning target, interact with material in meaningful ways, practice retrieval and spaced repetition, and protect recovery to support consolidation. Listeners are encouraged to test these simple experiments for school, work, or personal learning to make experience more usable and improve attention, memory, and performance.
