Ga: Bhí dath corcra-óir ag titim ar na crainn agus bhí aer crisp agus fionnuar ag líonadh gach cúinne den talamh. En: A golden-purple color was falling on the trees and crisp, cool air was filling every corner of the land.

Ga: Bhí radharc iontach ann – na puimcíní oráiste ag taitneamh faoi spéir liath Dheireadh Fómhair. En: There was a wonderful view – the orange pumpkins shining under the gray October sky.

Ga: Ar an bhfeirm sin bhí Eamon agus a dheirfiúr Siobhan. En: On that farm were Eamon and his sister Siobhan.

Ga: Bhí Eamon ina fheirmeoir gan stad ná staonadh. En: Eamon was a tireless farmer.

Ga: Thaitin an ghné seasmhach den fheirmeoireacht leis. En: He enjoyed the steady aspect of farming.

Ga: Bhí díograis aige i gcothabháil na bhfeirm. En: He was enthusiastic about the upkeep of the farm.

Ga: Ach, bhí a dheirfiúr, Siobhan, difriúil. En: However, his sister, Siobhan, was different.

Ga: Bhí croí bríomhar aici don phobal agus aigne lán de smaointe úrnua. En: She had a vibrant heart for the community and a mind full of new ideas.

Ga: Thaitin sí le cúrsaí ceol agus spraoi, agus bhí sí ag brionglóid ar an bhféile Oíche Shamhna sa bhaile nextime. En: She loved music and fun, and she was dreaming of the next Oíche Shamhna festival in town.

Ga: "Léirímis na puimcíní is áille ag an bhféile," arsa Siobhan le lasair i súile. En: "Let's show the most beautiful pumpkins at the festival," said Siobhan with a spark in her eyes.

Ga: "Beidh sé iontach don bhaile agus dár meas san phobal." En: "It will be wonderful for the town and our reputation in the community."

Ga: Agus é ag éisteacht, bhí Eamon níos cúramach. En: As he listened, Eamon was more cautious.

Ga: "Caithfimid faire aisti, ní féidir linn gach rud a thabhairt. Féach ar an ngnó, ná déan dearmad," ar sé go fonnmhar. En: "We must be careful, we can't give away everything. Look at the business, don't forget," he said earnestly.

Ga: Bhí díospóireacht bheag idir Eamon agus Siobhan faoi na puimcíní. En: There was a small debate between Eamon and Siobhan about the pumpkins.

Ga: Shocraigh Siobhan cúpla cinn níos lú a choinneáil don fhéile agus comhréiteach a fháil le Eamon ar cad ab fhearr don fheirm. En: Siobhan decided to keep a few smaller ones for the festival and reached a compromise with Eamon on what was best for the farm.

Ga: Tháinig an lá mór den fhéile. En: The big day of the festival arrived.

Ga: Bhí gach rud ullmhaithe, na puimcíní socraithe go péacstartha. En: Everything was prepared, the pumpkins arranged perfectly.

Ga: Ach ó chuaigh sioc ann, bhris cúpla scamaill agus thosaigh stoirm obann. En: But when frost came, a few clouds broke and a sudden storm began.

Ga: Bhí sé fuar agus tuile ag titim. En: It was cold and rain was pouring down.

Ga: Ní raibh aon leisce ar Eamon a thuilleadh. En: Eamon had no hesitation any longer.

Ga: Chuir sé a chuid imní i leataobh agus ghlac sé smacht mar a bhí i gcónaí ar an bhfeirmeoireacht. En: He set aside his worries and took control as he always did with farming.

Ga: "A Siobhán, gasta! Ba chóir dúinn na puimcíní a chosaint," ghlaoigh sé os ard. En: "Hey Siobhan, quick! We should protect the pumpkins," he shouted loudly.

Ga: D'oibrigh siad go dian ina gcomhpháirt. Ag tógáil puimcíní ón mbáisteach, ag cloígh le chéile, d'oibrigh siad i lámha a chéile. En: They worked hard together, lifting pumpkins from the rain, sticking together, working hand in hand.

Ga: Thaistil siad go dtí an folcadáin ina gcarn. Bhí deifir, ach bhí siad in ann gach rud a shábháil a raibh súil acu leis. En: They transported them to the barn in haste, but they managed to save everything they had hoped for.

Ga: Le linn na stoirm, d'fhoghlaim Eamon go bhf
