π Download Free PDF + Quiz π Advanced English Grammar Course π Basic & Intermediate Grammar E-Books Do you say: "I enjoy to read"β¦ or "I enjoy reading"? "I decided going"β¦ or "I decided to go"? If you're not sure and you're guessingβ¦ you're not alone. Gerunds vs. infinitives are one of the most confusing parts of learning English grammar. But today I'll make it clear when to use which one - so you can be correct and confident. A gerund is a verb with an -ing ending, which functions as a noun in the sentence π "reading," "going," "eating" An infinitive = to + verb π "to read," "to go," "to eat" The problem is that when we have two verbs in a rowβ¦ π Sometimes the second verb ends in -ing π Sometimes the second one is to + verb π Sometimes BOTH are possible! Let's look at each case step by step. You'll definitely want to download today's lesson guide to review all the examples - it also includes a quiz so you can test yourself and see if you've mastered gerunds and infinitives: https://espresso-english.kit.com/download-to-ing-25-verbs
