NFPE Considerations for Gender Diverse Patients

Dietitians in Nutrition Support

Show Notes

Gender-affirming nutrition care by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist is of great importance when working with transgender and gender diverse patients. This video covers considerations when conducting NFPEs on transgender patients, such as gender-affirming communication and applying a trauma-informed approach. It will also cover physical changes that may be observed when examining patients who are undergoing a gender-affirming medical or surgical transition.

This video was made possible thanks to a generous IDEA grant from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
