Show Notes
Once upon a time is an agreement. A warning. An invitation.
This trailer steps into a series about story as a living force, one that shapes how we see the world, and how we might yet imagine it differently.
Featuring writers, artists, storytellers and thinkers asking what stories are for, what they can change, and what happens when we pull them off the page and bring them back to life.
The Earth doesn't forget. Neither does story.
Welcome to Mythic Space.

More from Mythic Space
What happens when we loosen our grip on the world of facts and logic, and listen for something deeper? In this episode, we follow the late Manchán Magan through language, landscape, ritual and story. From words carried in pockets to bread, butter and disappearing to the otherworld, Manchán explores how Irish language and culture connects us to the land, to one another and to ways of knowing, that have almost been forgotten. What happens when we stop inventing stories and start listening for them? Storyteller and author Nancy Mellon explores storytelling as an embodied, intuitive practice rooted in wonder, imagination and the living world. A conversation about where stories come from, how they connect us, and why everything alive can become a story. We tell stories. We inherit them. We live inside them. Stories can enchant us, comfort us, frighten us and change the way we understand the world. In this opening journey into Mythic Space, we begin with the simplest question of all: what is story?
