Unsilence Grief

Show Notes

Chris Workman is a registered nurse, grief educator, author, speaker, and podcast host who helps people navigate life after profound loss. Her own life was forever changed by the death of her younger son and later by estrangement from her older son — experiences that inspired her mission to create honest conversations about grief, resilience, identity, and rebuilding a meaningful life. She is the host of the Laugh Cry Scream Podcast, where she explores the many faces of loss, including child loss, suicide loss, catastrophic illness, caregiving, widowhood, estrangement, and the unexpected ways grief reshapes our lives. Through interviews, storytelling, and practical conversations, Chris creates space for people to discuss the realities of loss that are often overlooked or misunderstood. Known for her direct, compassionate, and occasionally humorous approach, Chris believes people deserve honest conversations about grief — not clichés, judgment, or pressure to simply “move on.”

Danny Lesslie is a widower and a father to two daughters. He is a best selling and award winning author, entrepreneur, a storyteller, a coach, and speaker. He and his family reside in Texas. His first book "Thank You, Cancer" won the International Impact Award, and is a powerful memoir about Love, loss, resilience, and faith. Co-authored by Danny Lesslie and his late wife, Raffaella Dobles, it tells the story of their journey through Raffaella's 5-year battle with Stage 4 cancer, and the life they built together in the face of it.More than a story about illness, "Thank You, Cancer" invites the reader to choose Love through the hardest moments."The Thank You Bridge" (Amazon Best Seller) is the second volume in "The Thank You Trilogy" by Danny Lesslie. This book is the framework that emerged from Danny and Raffi’s journey. Its central insight is structural: every human life moves between two domains. The horizontal Domain of Self – control, ego, survival – and the vertical Domain of Service – gratitude, dependence, significance. The bridge between them is any moment when life's horizontal solutions stop working. What begins as a personal account of grief becomes something larger: an invitation to see your own story as part of a design that runs through mathematics, nature, through history, and through you. Here's how to connect with Danny:Website: https://dannylesslie.coInsta: https://www.instagram.com/momentumwithdanny1st Book: https://mybook.to/ThankYouCancer2nd Book: https://mybook.to/thethankyoubridge#cancer #fatherhood #widowhood #faith #author #speaker #coach #christian #christianity

Ashley Nicole Jones is a grief specialist, TEDx speaker, author, and creator. After her daughter died, Ashley founded Momento Foundation in 2015, a nonprofit offering free professional portrait sessions to families facing a terminal diagnosis and helping people heal in grief. Spending over a decade on the front lines of loss, Ashley identified what the grief industry was missing: tools that honor both the science of trauma and the full humanity of the bereaved. Her debut book, When You Can’t See The Light: A Trauma-Informed Survival Guide to Surviving a Significant Loss, translates complex research into an accessible, deeply empathetic roadmap for navigating grief. Through consulting and keynote speaking, Ashley brings grief literacy into places where it’s rarely discussed but urgently needed. She helps leaders, teams, and individuals build the emotional capacity to face one of life’s most universal experiences with courage, clarity, and compassion. Ashley is also a huge animal lover and a passionate plant mom.
