This issue affects 30% to 50% of the population's ability to detox, and many people have no idea they have it. Learn more, and find out one of the best ways to clean a fatty liver. Today we're going to talk about a common problem that affects your ability to detoxify chemicals and other toxins. This problem involves the MTHFR gene, known as the detox gene. It's also involved in creating neurotransmitters and in hormonal regulation. If you have a mutation or alternation with the MTHFR gene, you could lose 25% to 80% of the gene's function. A loss of function of the MTHFR gene could lead to potential complications, including: • Free radical damage • Oxidation • Inflammation • Fibrosis • Cirrhosis • Insulin resistance • Fatty liver • Poor digestion • Poor sleep • Gallstones • High cholesterol • Backup of bile Many chemicals in the environment are considered endocrine disrupters and estrogen disrupters, which may lead to various health concerns. If you have a genetic mutation of the MTHFR gene, a typical detox won't help you very much. You have to have a very clean lifestyle. With this mutation, your liver could have a difficult time just getting rid of things like alcohol or caffeine. But there are things you can do to help this gene work correctly. First off, you should avoid synthetic, enriched, and fortified foods and supplements. The best things to support detoxification if you have a mutation of the MTHFR gene: 1. Methylfolate 2. Methylcobalamin 3. Choline 4. Natural B vitamin complex (nutritional yeast) 5. Magnesium (leafy greens) 6. Cruciferous vegetables Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. That’s because the Epley maneuver moves the crystals that cause vertigo, but it doesn’t address why they’re becoming dislodged in the first place. The most common type of vertigo is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), which is caused by displaced calcium crystals in the inner ear. This condition is especially common in women after menopause.A protein called osteopontin helps keep calcium crystals tightly attached to the hairs of the inner ear. When this protein gets too high, these crystals can break off and become displaced, causing dizziness. Vitamin D plays a key role in regulating this protein. Here’s how to prevent vertigo and reduce the risk of recurrence.Vitamin D: take 6000 to 10,000 IU dailyVitamin K2: take 100 mcg of MK7 Vitamin K2 for every 10,000 IU of vitamin DMagnesium glycinate: take 400 mg dailyTry this protocol for several weeks to stop vertigo and keep it from coming back.DATA:https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10934290/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10455006/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11214163/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11983856/ Dr. Eric Berg, DC, Bio:Dr. Berg, DC, age 61, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis and Intermittent Fasting. I’m embarrassed I didn’t know about this sooner. Here’s what you need to know about GRAS. Detoxify 1000s of Chemicals From Your Body Just With Food: ▶️ https://youtu.be/HN0yEn4vbRw 0:00 Introduction: What is GRAS? 0:25 The truth about GRAS 1:20 A deeper look at certain chemicals 5:50 Learn more about detoxification! Let’s talk about the term GRAS (generally recognized as safe). GRAS applies to chemicals that are in our environment and food. GRAS implies that the chemical is regulated and has been through a lot of safety studies. However, the FDA allows companies to self-certify their chemicals as safe. There are about 10,000 chemicals in our food supply, and 99% of them have not been reviewed for safety. GRAS is more of a loophole that companies use to imply that their chemicals are safe despite outside testing. Six chemicals that are generally recognized as safe: 1. Nitrates: • Help preserve meat • Increase shelf life • Increase the risk of cancer • Could be in your drinking water 2. BHA: • A preservative • An endocrine disruptor • A carcinogen 3. BHT: • A preservative • An endocrine disruptor • Toxic to the liver and kidneys • Increases cancer risk 4. Potassium bromide: • A dough conditioner used in many flour products • A carcinogen • Can inhibit iodine 5. Brominated vegetable oil: • A flavor stabilizer in beverages • A flame retardant • Can harm the nervous system and brain • Can affect your memory • Can interfere with iodine 6. Titanium dioxide • Gives candy a smooth texture and brightens colors • Can cause DNA damage • Increases cancer risk • A heavy metal Our bodies have the ability to get rid of a lot of these poisons if we don’t consume too many. However, some people have a problem with their detoxification genes. This means that they have a lessened ability to get rid of these poisons. The best thing to do is to try to avoid these chemicals and consume foods that support the detoxification process, like cruciferous vegetables.
