The Maradona Card Every Serious Collector Should Want To Own
Searching For Soccer: The Football Card PodcastShow Notes
In 1984, Diego Maradona arrived in Naples and is still considered a god there. For me, this 1984 Panini Calciatori is the piece that captures his soul. It’s his first appearance in that classic blue Napoli kit, and today we’re breaking down why it belongs in every serious collection.
Napoli was a struggling club facing relegation before Diego arrived; two years later, he’d won the World Cup and delivered their first Scudetto. This sticker is a piece of that history.
There are currently zero PSA 10s and only one single PSA 9 in existence.
With a total PSA pop of just 62, this is incredibly hard to find in high grade compared to rookies of Maldini or Baggio the following year.
