Let us know if you have any comments or suggestions [email protected]. Hi Guys, Listening to Episode 153, I want to commend for your Literature reading, the novels by Philip Kerr. He wrote a series of 13 books in which the protagonist is a German policeman: they begin during the Weimar Republic years, span the Nazi period, and continue into the post-WW II era. The writing style leans heavily towards Raymond Chandler. They are NOT for the squeamish, however, as the historical accuracy is pretty spot-on. I recommend starting with Kerr's final volume, "Metropolis", which is set historically before the rest of the books in the series. As a testament to how much I like these books, I've read the entire series TWICE! Lastly, Stuart commented, in regard to a new Eduard Bf-109 E kit, that Adolf Galland had the most aerial victories in WW II. Actually, that should have been Erich Hartmann, a German fighter pilot who served mostly, I believe, on the Russian front. Love your podcast, Dave Kensy

*************************************** SPONSOR AD #1 Cult TV Man *************************************** TOPIC After reading Adam Savage's book I think it's time for a serious overhaul of my workspace. I see some of his philosophy can be very helpful. Mostly for my toolbox and bench drawers. A big topic on organizing, downsizing, rightsizing, rationalizing, and so on. Suggestions for organizing stuff, do you have a system? [foogallery id="3945"] [foogallery id="3946"] *************************************** WHAT’S ON THE BENCH Stuart - Whirlwind painting is done, gloss coat has been applied, started decals. Working on a 1/48 Tamiya Sherman Firefly. Also working on a Matchbox 1/76 M-40 GMC as a club nostalgia build. Geoff - as part of the same “nostalgia build” contest our local club is having I started on a couple of old Matchbox and Esci 1/72 and 1/76 kits of a Humber armoured car and a Pzkpf 1. Fast, small and fun. I even decided to try and finish them with paints from the era - old Polly Scale acrylics! The smell even takes me back! Terry: Since I have new mecha kits for our old Battletech crew, I started the Hasegawa 1/72 Super Valkyrie battroid. That was Jeff’s mech. Finished up the Hasegawa Harpy fighter (Crusher Joe) in Norma’s red scheme. 90% done with the Macross Phalanx, but need to replace the antennae, since I broke one. Neil - Scratch built Macross Diorama building continues in 1/72nd scale. Painted and almost ready for glosscoating and decalling.
*************************************** WHAT WE ARE READING Stuart - Same as last week. Stephen Baxter’s Traces Geoff - digging into some Time Life books on WW2, specifically on the desert campaigns, as I don’t know much about them. Terry - Reading Stephen Baxter’s Moonseed now, about 20% through. Also reading volume 1 of The Apothecary Diaries light novels. Neil - Too busy with remodelling to read right now. Cursing a local half price boo

Beyond The Box Art® — Episode 34 Scale Model Podcast — Episode 162 IPMS UK & USA Presidents - TOGETHER Hiya Benchmates — Episode 34 has landed, and this is one we've genuinely been looking forward to for a very long time. For only the second time, Beyond The Box Art® joins forces with our great friends at The Scale Model Podcast for another special transatlantic collaboration, bringing together voices from both sides of the Atlantic for what has become a truly landmark episode. This time, however, we're making a little bit of history... Feature Discussion — The First Public IPMS Presidents Round Table For the first time ever, the Presidents of IPMS UK, IPMS USA, and IPMS Canada come together publicly for one conversation. Joining Brownie, Balders, Dan & Shane are Terry Miesle and Geoff Heyland, plus: Ian Middleton — President, IPMS UK • John Noack — President, IPMS USA Together they discuss the future of IPMS, attracting new generations of modellers, supporting clubs and shows, the challenges facing modelling organisations around the world, and why the hobby remains as relevant today as ever. Rather than a formal interview, this is a genuine round-table discussion between friends who all share the same goal — ensuring scale modelling continues to thrive for many years to come. There are thoughtful discussions, plenty of laughs, a healthy amount of good-natured banter, and more than a few moments where international diplomacy is tested over plastic kits. Stash Inflation Report The team's wallets once again take a considerable battering as they round up the latest kit announcements, aftermarket releases and modelling temptations from around the world. Aircraft, armour, naval subjects, Gunpla and everything in between all come under the spotlight, with plenty of opportunities to add "just one more kit" to the stash. As always, expect a few questionable purchasing decisions, several enabling comments, and at least one declaration that "I definitely don't need another one..." (We all know how that ends.) This episode is more than simply another podcast. It's a celebration of what can happen when modelling communities work together rather than apart, proving that while our accents, club badges and favourite subjects may differ, we're all united by exactly the same passion for scale modelling. We sincerely hope this becomes the first of many annual conversations bringing together IPMS organisations from around the world. So grab a brew, pull up a chair at the bench, and join us for a truly international conversation celebrating our hobby. Scale Model Podcast — Episode 161 Beyond The Box Art® — Episode 28 Breaking the Hiatus! Hiya Benchmates — and a very warm welcome to something a little bit special. This episode sees Beyond The Box Art® joining forces with the Scale Model Podcast as we help cover the gap SMP has left since Stuart took a break to look after his better half following a prolonged health issue — and what better way to do it than with a proper transatlantic natter session. Joining Brownie for this one from the UK are Dan Brazil & Shane Cowie and from SMP we have dusted off Geoff Heyland and Terry Miesley for a general hobby conversation and how BTBA was robbed at the moosaroo cup ???? amongst many other topics. Unfortunately we had a technical issue whilst recording, so there are a few bits of the conversation which sound a bit odd or not to the normal quality we try to put out – but it was better than losing a big chunk of the show!
