Ep 172: Alone Doesn't Mean Lonely and The Power of Solitude with Bianca Juarez Olthoff and Lauren Bronson Petrous
We're Going There with Bianca JuarezShow Notes
Have you ever wrestled with being alone? How can a season of solitude be a catalyst for personal growth?
I am in a very difficult season of forced aloneness and I wanted to share my story with you. Thankfully my good friend Lauren Bronson Petrous is joining me as my co-host and we delve into the importance of changing our perspectives on aloneness. We emphasize that being alone does not equate to being lonely and explore the power of solitude for self-discovery, personal growth, and emotional health, while addressing societal perceptions of being alone.
Our goal is to underscore the significance of self-awareness and the journey of understanding one's identity, particularly in a culture that often prioritizes community and partnership. Some key topics are:
Redefining aloneness and its importance
The power of solitude for self-discovery and personal growth
Societal perceptions of being alone versus being lonely
The role of self-awareness in personal and professional success
Intentional solitude as a catalyst for growth and resilience
Insights from the Bible on the value of aloneness
Scientific support for the benefits of solitude
Empowerment and liberation through being alone
Balancing community and self-understanding
Profound personal insights gained from forced aloneness
We want to encourage you to embrace the transformative power of aloneness, using it as a tool for self-discovery, growth, and empowerment. Let us know how you are embracing aloneness by tagging Lauren and I at @laurenbronsonpetrous & @biancaolthoff.
Love you, B

What do we do when life doesn’t go the way we wanted? The Church today needs tools for discipleship that go beyond a Sunday experience so that people can stay the course and live out the transformation that comes from staying with God… even when things don’t work out as planned. What does it mean for us to be present to His presence even when the outcomes are disappointing or heartbreaking?
How can we actually love like God calls us to love? The Church today is straining under the weight of division. Politics, theological disagreements, cultural differences, and deeply felt wounds are real threats and real damage is being done. What should happen when people who genuinely love Jesus and faithfully wrestle with Scripture arrive at different conclusions? In this conversation led by Dr. Anita Phillips, we get real about conviction, humility, and the work of remaining tender toward one another. This is an invitation to cultivate a love strong enough to stretch—reaching for each other rather than running as we trust God with it all.
Drop into a deeply human conversation with Dr. Anita Phillips, Noemi Chavez, Bianca Juarez, and Hosanna Wong– four friends and leaders whose lives, expertise, and perspectives are remarkably different, but whose shared center is Jesus and His Church.
Have you found yourself praying fervently and working endlessly, but you're still waiting in the dry season for your breakthrough?
Are you just winging it, hoping no one notices you haven’t actually mastered the art of receiving feedback yet? If you’re tired of the "performative" stuff and ready for real, gut-level growth, this episode is your wake-up call.
