Marvel Milestones: Wolverine 1974 - A Deep Dive Into Wolverine’s First Appearance! Part One
Marvel Versus MarvelShow Notes
For the first time ever we take a deep dive into a historic milestone in the history of Marvel Comics, the first appearance of Wolverine in 1974! We explore the huge power and influence of Wolverine as a multi-media character, his huge popularity from the movies to TV shows, from video games, toys and merchandise, to his comic book sales! Then we’ll take you through the controversial history of WHO CREATED WOLVERINE! We’ll not only pin down exactly WHO created WHAT aspects of Logan, but we’ll dig up the hidden history, the original sketches, the stolen ideas, the lawsuits, the money at stake, and what caused a grieving widow to say “seeing his name as co-creator makes me sick to my stomach!” And then, instead of taking a deep dive into a movie or TV show, we take a deep dive into a comic book! We’ll explore Wolverine’s earliest appearances in the pages of The Incredible Hulk in 1974! The costume and the claws, the powers and the personality - we’ll examine just how much of the Wolverine WE KNOW is there at the very beginning!
