In this episode of Those Who Speak, Courtney and Christina sit down with artist and writer, N3VLINN, to discuss the voices of black women in the debate surrounding gender ideology. We explore the importance of protecting women's rights to our own definitions, language and spaces. We speak with N3VLINN and hear her personal journey with gender ideology and how it has not only impacted her life and experiences as part of the LGB community, but she raises the voices of other black women, some who have been, or still are, incarcerated and their experiences with gender ideology within the prison system. In this episode of Those Who Speak, Courtney and Christina sit down with Australian MP Moira Deeming, formerly of the Liberal Party and now with Family First, for a wide-ranging conversation about gender ideology, women's rights, schools, politics, and the institutions shaping these debates. Moira shares her experience as a teacher, advocate, and politician, including what she has witnessed in Australian schools and government and why she has continued speaking publicly on these issues despite intense political controversy. We also discuss the Respectful Relationships program, the introduction of gender identity concepts in education, protections for women and girls, and what parents should know about the policies and ideas influencing children today.
In this episode, Christina & Courtney speak with Alexandra Lyashchenko, a Ukranian- born mother who is a citizen of the United States. She discusses how California authorities removed her 15 year old daughter after she and her husband refused to "affirm" her as a boy or consent to testosterone and surgery. Alexandra describes how her family became entangled with schools, clinicians, child-protection authorities and the courts- and the devestating consequences of refusing to medicalize a vulnerable child. Her story raises urgent questions about parental rights, informed consent, child safeguarding and what happens when ideology is allowed to override the bond between parents and their children.
