Doggerland – The Land Beneath the North Sea

Lost Civilizations: Ancient Aliens & Forgotten History

Show Notes

In this episode, we're heading straight to the bottom of the North Sea — literally. About 8,000 years ago, a rich, forested landmass sat right here, bigger than many of today's European countries. It used to have no name at all, because nobody knew it had ever existed — today we call it Doggerland. We start with a fishing trawler that, in 1931, hauled up a 13,000-year-old harpoon from the seabed, and we follow the trail through geologists, archaeologists, and DNA researchers who've slowly pieced together an entire vanished landscape. Along the way, we'll hit a massive tsunami out of Norway, a Stonehenge made of deer skulls, a man with blue-green eyes and dark skin from a cave in Somerset, and a French pseudo-documentary about an "Atlantean city" on the seafloor — which we're about to debunk. And at the very end, we'll ask the big question: if Doggerland really did drown an entire civilization, why don't we have any myths about it — unlike Atlantis, which never existed at all?

Is there a hidden civilization beneath our feet?

You wake up in the middle of the night. Your body is paralyzed. You cannot scream. And in the corner of your bedroom, a dark figure is watching you. Some see a shadow. Others see an old woman. And again and again, people describe something even stranger: a tall, dark figure wearing a hat – The Hat Man.

What if the reality around you isn’t quite what it appears to be? The deeper you go down the simulation hypothesis rabbit hole, the stranger the questions become. Why can the universe be described so precisely by mathematics? Does reality have a minimum “resolution”? And why does the quantum world behave so differently from the reality we experience every day? Then there’s something even stranger: mathematical structures resembling error-correcting codes appearing in advanced theoretical physics. In this episode, we follow the trail from Nick Bostrom’s famous Simulation Argument to Donald Hoffman’s theory of reality as an interface, James Gates’ remarkable mathematical connections, quantum physics, cosmic rays, and the mysterious Gateway document produced by U.S. Army Intelligence. Some trails lead nowhere. Others become much stranger the closer you look. Because perhaps the wrong question is whether we live in a simulation. Maybe we should be asking: If we do… how could we ever find out?

Who were the Anunnaki — gods of ancient Mesopotamia, or visitors from another world? In this episode, René explores one of the most fascinating and controversial theories about the origins of humanity. We travel back to ancient Sumer and encounter the Anunnaki, Enki, Enlil, and the Igigi — figures found in some of humanity’s oldest written stories. According to Zecharia Sitchin’s famous theory, the Anunnaki came from the mysterious planet Nibiru. They traveled to Earth in search of gold and eventually altered human evolution through genetic engineering. But what do the ancient Mesopotamian texts actually say? We investigate Nibiru, the Sumerian King List, the creation of humanity, the rebellion of the gods, the Great Flood, the Nephilim, the Apkallu, and theories surrounding ancient gold mines in Africa. Where do the authentic ancient texts end — and where does the modern Anunnaki story begin? Join us as we venture down a rabbit hole where ancient gods, extraterrestrials, and humanity’s forgotten past collide.

In the early 1990s, people around Taos, New Mexico began reporting something strange. A deep, persistent humming sound—like a distant diesel engine. There was just one problem: no one could find the engine. Only some people could hear it. For everyone else, there was complete silence. Scientists, engineers, and researchers from major U.S. laboratories investigated the phenomenon, but the search for a definitive source failed to produce the answer many expected. In this episode, René investigates the mystery of The Taos Hum, following the evidence from low-frequency sound, infrasound, and tinnitus into far stranger territory: military technology, HAARP, Schumann resonances, Havana Syndrome, and the legendary underground Dulce Base. So what are people actually hearing?
