126: A Serious Case of Gender

The Twelve Huntsmen & The Unicorn (“El Oricuerno”)

A very happy Pride to you and yours! This episode is all about gender and kissing the people you want to, with a little vengeance sprinkled on top. Abbie recounts the Brothers’ Grimm tale of The Twelve Huntsman, which is a story about true love, disguise, the supposed gender binary, and a lion that’s either trolling hard or deeply anxious about all of it. Kelsey follows after with a Spanish fairy tale: The Unicorn, a magical story about community gender anxiety, disguise, true love, and more hunting.
