Navia Robinson is here! She's Nia Baxter on Raven's Home D'Asia in Being Mary Jane Janie on The Vampire Diaries & Rosie in Free Rein! Plus Piper talks Michael Poryes (co-crator of That's So Raven) and makes an appeal to Disney Channel to bring back more awesome shows from the kids live action Golden Age. (Yes we're very excited about Terri Minsky's Lizzie McGuire reboot too!) So this all went down on the red carpet at Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights 2019! We actually didn't know that Navia would even be there until checking in so she was a pretty kewl surprise! Navia Ziraili Robinson is one of many talented Disney Channel young actors from the Atlanta area (including Raven Symone). Tip for actor who think they need to be in LA to get started: So many actors actually get their start in the South! Jennifer Stone, Leighton Meester and Selena Gomez are from Texas. Bella Thorne, Bailey Madison, Johnny Depp, Adam Sandler (and Piper Reese) are all from South Florida. Demi Lovato is from New Mexico. You can start anywhere! Debby Ryan actually got started acting in Wiesbaden Germany! Yup! Ya need to get to work guyz! OK…back to Navia! So Navia Robinson was in a bunch of commercials before being invited by Disney execs to a two-week acting intensive boot camp in LA. From there she went on to appearing with Gabrielle Union in BET's Being Mary Jane the Netflix series Free Rein and eventually Raven's Home in 2017! In this interview Piper and Navia get into the fun questions: wardrobe who messes up most on set (and Navia doesn't go with the standard answer we usually hear) and what's coming up for Raven's Home season 3! So sit back and relax for all 3 minutes and check it out guys! 💖PiPeR ReeSe ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Subscribe to my channel here: youtube.com/PipersPicksTV/?sub_confirmation=1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Piper's Picks launched in 2007 as the the first online entertainment news show. Amanda Beggs is an award winning sound mixer who's breaking stereotypes as a women in cinema audio and a woman in STEM / STEAM! She's worked in the sound department on Star Trek, Star Wars, Star Tours at Disneyland and WDW. Amanda's sound department credits include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek Beyond & Into Darkness, Grey's Anatomy and a ton of other projects. On top of that, she was just #Emmynominated! We caught up with Amanda Beggs at the Cinema Audio Society Awards (CAS Awards) just last year. Amanda discusses the autonomy and creative aspects that come together to keep this Trekkie pushing the envelope (no sound-pun intended) and on top of her game. Her passion, hard work and skill clearly make her an aspirational woman who excels way back behind the lens as an Emmy nominated and award winning sound mixer! Lastly, as a graduate from The Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, Amanda is yet another reminder that you don't have to go to film school in Los Angeles to be successful in the entertainment industry! ❤️💙💚💛💜 Thank you so much for watching, guyz! 💖Piper, Adam & the Fam @PipersPicksTV #WomenInSTEM #soundmixer ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Subscribe to my channel here: youtube.com/PipersPicksTV/?sub_confirmation=1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Piper's Picks launched in 2007 as the the first online entertainment news show.
