Self-Care for Mental Health | Recovery, Anxious, Sadness, Bipolar, Emotions, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Self-EsteemShow Notes
Welcome to Living Table! 🌊 I'm so glad you are here! 🫶 🤔 Have you wondered where to even begin when it comes to discovering your own path to wellness recovery? You are not alone. In my experience of going from living invisible to being seen and known, I found that vulnerability and having safe spaces to talk about my mental health and wellness, has helped me see more clearly my own path to wellness recovery. Even more, having friends that know our plan and can invite us into our path and even go with us, is so invaluable. Today I am joined by two of my very dear friends, Amanda Cady and Amanda Morrison, who I met while offering Peer Support in our community. You will get to hear what drew us to each other and how we have been able to support each other on our paths to wellness recovery. Listen in. Your presence matters here. <3 With you, Amy Special thanks to… Singer-songwriter Joel Ansett, for the use of his song Known & Loved. The Amanda’s and I would each tell you in our own way how much this song resembles peer support and our friendships. It beautifully expresses what it looks like for us as we walk with each other on our paths to wellness recovery. Thank you, Joel. ❤️👉Connect with Joel and support his music @ https://www.joelansett.com/ Find his music anywhere you stream music @joelansett. It is soulful music for the homesick soul. Check it out! Hugs to… Amanda Cady and Amanda Morrison for being at the table with me today. Thank you, friends! Hi friend 🫶 Have you ever felt resistant to seeking professional help for your mental health or that it’s too late? My guest today, Jonathan Kemp, is a mental health advocate, entrepreneur, and creator of SmartWisdom- a scientifically validated note-taking technique. He was born into privilege as the future 3rd Viscount of Rochdale. He knew something wasn’t right since he was about 7 years old and struggled for years trying everything he could on his own to feel better. He was diagnosed at age 39 with bipolar disorder, depression, and dyslexia. He had been unaware of how these mental health challenges had been shaping his life until he finally sought professional help. His memoir, Finding Peace of Mind: An Inspirational Journey through Bipolar, Depression, Addiction, and Dyslexia is releasing today, October 10, 2025. In it he reveals how privilege and outward success offered no protection from the quiet devastation of undiagnosed mental illness and how he ultimately fought to build his sense of purpose and mental clarity. If you’ve ever felt resistant to seeking professional help or that it’s too late, this episode is for you. Listen in.
