Dr Premitha Damodaran is an icon in Malaysia. As a leading OB/GYN in Malaysia, she has also led the conversation and support for menopause for the last 20 years. Her mission is to normalise menopause and take away the taboo and the stigma attached to it; allowing women to empower themselves in their menopausal years. Dr Premitha delivered my son 11 years ago when I lived in Malaysia. When I went into perimenopause, I didn’t know Dr Premitha was the doctor I should have spoken to and then I repatriated to New Zealand - me and my symptoms and a dream of a podcast! During COVID, Dr Premitha wrote “The Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Menopause in Malaysia”. In this episode, we discuss: - her purpose-driven mission to support women in Malaysia and beyond. - her holistic view of life in menopause and beyond and the beautiful way she “coaches" women. - menopause is a multi-cultural society and the main symptoms …. and it's not what you might think! - from miscarriage to menopause and WHY it might be challenging for women in their 40’s to have babies. - the rise in infertility, breast cancer and fibroids.
