Sebbo's World

Show Notes

Sebbo and Tobler go through Interstellar, Tobler's favourite movie of all time, starting with how it made him a Christopher Nolan fan and guessing the ratings, budget and box office. They walk through the dying Earth, Cooper’s goodbye to Murph, Miller’s planet, Matt Damon’s Dr Mann and the docking scene, and the father-daughter story underneath it all. They finish by answering their opening questions, including whether it’s Hans Zimmer’s best work and the best sci-fi movie of its time, then pick Big Daddy for next week.

More from Sebbo's World

Oct 27, 2026

Sebbo and Tobler launch a new News Desk segment, starting with their weekends, a beer kit video and the Sebbo’s World quiz. They go through a Shane Gillis and Danny McBride ad, Daft Punk’s Lego collab, an AI-generated GTA version of Greece and the Internet Invitational, and respond to a YouTube comment about the venues bracket. The episode ends with a draft of history’s deadliest armies, including the Spartans, Romans, Mongol horse archers and samurai, where they each pick four from twelve and Claude simulates the battle.

Sebbo and Tobler review Con Air, with Tobler watching it for the first time and both of them guessing the budget and box office before they start. They go through the “How Do I Live” Oscar nomination, John Malkovich signing on without reading the script, Nic Cage’s roundhouse kick and the cigarette flick they call the coolest moment in an action movie. They finish by answering their own questions, including whether it beats The Rock and where Cyrus ranks among 90s villains, and pick Interstellar for next week.

Oct 20, 2026

Sebbo and Tobler catch up on Tobler’s solo Tame Impala gig, Sebbo’s night at the dogs for the last Million Dollar Chase, and the response to the screen time nostalgia video. Sebbo also plugs the Sebbo’s World quiz, with a rundown of what’s in it and last week’s scores. They answer a YouTube question on how to run a Wimbledon table tennis tournament in a share house, then Sebbo goes through the history of the witch trials. The second half is early internet nostalgia, covering MSN Messenger, LimeWire, burning CDs and blue screens of death, before they finish on the Mama Cass ham sandwich myth and an appreciation of Rose Byrne.

Oct 14, 2026

Sebbo and Tobler take on their first proper comedy, Tropic Thunder, starting with why they don’t think comedies get made like this anymore and how Ben Stiller came up with the idea on an Army boot camp. They go through the fake trailers, the Platoon spoof opening, Danny McBride, Robert Downey Jr’s Oscar-nominated turn, the binoculars scene and Tom Cruise as Les Grossman. They also take on the “can you make this today?” question and rank where it sits among the great comedies of the 2000s. Next week’s pick: Con Air.

Oct 13, 2026

For the first guest episode, Sebbo sits down with his oldest friend, Streety, for the origin story of their friendship, from meeting at primary school to the toy guns and blood capsules, the house parties and the Wimbledon tournament. They get into the Prada nights and the characters they stayed in all night, and how having kids has brought the silliness back. Streety then runs through his top five movies and the B-side film that goes with each, and they close with a gun-to-your-head round of three songs to save humanity.
