Show Notes
Today we're joined by Sean Mackowski of Tallon Electric. Before the episode, we thought his object was going to be an amp, but as we get into it, we realize it's all about The Noise, his new pedal collaboration with the band Alpha Wolf. We talk about pedal usage in modern medal and heavy music in general, and various approaches to gain, octaves, and momentary bursts of sound. This one's inspired by the new wave of players using pedals as instrumental elements of the heaviest riffs around. Also, Andy and I are taken aback when we find out what band Sean used to be in. It's a fun one, so dive in!
More from Object Worship
Today our hosts catch up on Dan's experience in Japan around the Tokyo Pedal Summit. He talks about a very special show at Gizmo Music, some pedals he brought back with him, and other tales of the great company he was surrounded by. Your hosts just wanted to catch up with each other, and figured you'd want the chance to listen in - so listen away!
Today our hosts are joined by Barton McGuire of Cosmodio Instruments. Barton is celebrating the release of the Horoscope Echo Sequencer, so our hosts naturally have a lot of questions about it. But they also learn all about the Mutable Instruments Anushri, the open source DIY semimodular synth kit that taught Barton a lot of early lessons in his journey as both a musician and a pedal builder. There's a lot of process talk - some good old fashioned Object Worship fun!
Dan is in Japan! But don't worry, Andy has it mostly under control. And just like last time Dan was out of the country, Jeremy SH Griffith joins to talk mics, midi, tabletop pedalboards, and listen to some dispatches from Dan (and a few other fine folks).
Today our hosts engage in a quick checkin to talk about how busy they are! They start with a deviation about a particular guitar noise, then dive into a small episode about a small object: the Dunlop James Hetfield Signature White Fang Flow pick. Dan talks about how it came into his life, how it's made him appreciate other styles of pick, and why he keeps coming back to it.
Today our hosts are joined by Zach Broyles. Listeners may know him as the man behind Mythos Pedals, his guitar shop High Voltage Guitars, and as a host of the Dipped in Tone podcast. Our hosts talk shop with Zach, starting with the early excitement of tinkering with pedal mods and getting into the realities of running a brand in 2026. There's Tube Screamers, Klons, and Neutrona Wands, and a lot of insight into how different brands approach making a new product. Dive in!
