Carter Benjamin: Reclaiming Rock, Finding Faith, and the Spiritual Practice of SongwritingCarter Benjamin is an indie/alternative artist blending folk, gospel, and soul-infused rock. His music is rooted in storytelling, exploring themes of identity, resilience, and belonging. From his upbringing in Grand Cayman and Washington D.C. to his bold, genre-defying album Black Boys on the Radio Part II, Carter seeks to reclaim space for voices too often left out of the conversation. In this episode, Carter opens up about growing up being told rock music "wasn't for Black kids" — not just by peers, but by his own community. We trace his journey from a wannabe kid rapper in DC to a genre-defying artist whose TikTok moment with "Sticks and Stones" had Warner, Columbia, and Capitol Records calling overnight. He shares why he chose to stay independent, the divine inspiration behind his album Welcome to Sugarshack, and the challenge of sharing deeply personal art in a world that treats music as disposable content. We also explore Carter's spiritual life — from his roots in a multi-generational pastor's family to the Christian mysticism, Zen Buddhism, daily meditation, and Tao Te Ching readings that now shape his creative process. He speaks candidly about the terrifying experience of questioning the belief systems he was raised on, the nervous system work it takes to feel safe enough to just "do the work," and what it means to surrender to the process as both an artist and a parent.https://www.instagram.com/carterbenjamin/https://www.instagram.com/oneoverinfinitypodcast/https://www.instagram.com/rezasafinia/#spirituality #music #podcast

LⵣBNA — also known as Luna — is a DJ, producer, and singer whose sound has been shaped by techno, house, electronica and experimentation since the mid-2000s. She came of age in a culture where the dance floor felt like a space of freedom, discovery and collective experience — a place where individuality and belonging could coexist. In this conversation, she shares the story behind her art and her life: a cancer diagnosis at 33 that led to therapeutic singing lessons, a first DJ performance played while her white blood cell count was too low for chemotherapy — and the miraculous recovery that followed. She opens up about the voice as a vehicle for stored trauma, how certain frequencies were erased from her memory by a childhood experience, and the profound healing she found through her voice teacher Bisan. We explore her Amazigh heritage and its matrilineal roots, the story behind her debut album Life Outside the Piano, and the philosophy that drives her two NGOs: HIKAYA, bringing together people from Arabic countries to share stories and challenge stereotypes, and The GOOD DJ, harnessing the influence of DJs for social impact. She speaks about joy and pain as inseparable, the "fabric of life" as her concept of God, and why she allows the mystery rather than searching for answers. As electronic music has grown into a global industry driven by scale and visibility, LⵣBNA asks: what happens when connection matters more than consumption, and sharing more than owning? For her, freedom means taking a stance and acting on it.Her debut vocal album Life Outside the Piano moves between trip-hop, electronica and the dancefloor, presented in live shows followed by extended DJ sets. John Dill is a multidisciplinary artist, graphic designer, and famed DJ whose distinctive illustration style has never been shown to the world quite like this. In this deeply personal conversation, John traces the winding path that shaped his art and identity — from a life-threatening eye injury in Bali that left him temporarily blind and rebuilding his vision from scratch, to a mysterious, faceless entity he encountered deep in the desert at Burning Man that would go on to define his entire visual language.
